[Healers] Jade Spirit Enchant Concerns

Ok, since we have builds that the enchant actually works. (for many builds it wasnt working at all).... I did some testing and logging to see how it actually worked in game.

Healers in MoP are increasing their value of their regen procs, enchants, gemming. (partially b/c mana management is a bigger part of their role, but also that its the start of an expansion and mana will always be sparce) I understand the goal of the enchant is to give you a Spellpower Bonus (from the 1650 intellect proc), and when you are under 25% mana (ie. in the most need for spirit) you also proc a 750 spirit proc.

Again: If you're under 25% Mana, you proc 750 spirit for 12 seconds.

If you proc at 26% mana, you do not get the spirit and trigger the ICD.

Here are some results from a log...

[15:26:57.107] Derevka gains Jade Spirit from Derevka
[15:27:48.557] Derevka gains Jade Spirit from Derevka
[15:29:03.188] Derevka gains Jade Spirit from Derevka
[15:30:00.890] Derevka gains Jade Spirit from Derevka
[15:30:59.406] Derevka gains Jade Spirit from Derevka
[15:32:05.000] Derevka gains Jade Spirit from Derevka
[15:32:55.935] Derevka gains Jade Spirit from Derevka
[15:33:56.948] Derevka gains Jade Spirit from Derevka

The results seem to agree with the databases (wowDB/wowhead) and suggest a 10% proc chance. Looks like there is a "standard" 45 sec ICD.

That means, with a 45 sec ICD, and perfect timing (ignoring the 10% proc chance, assuming it procs as soon as its off ICD)... you have a ~26% uptime. (the log above I was just under 20% uptime) Presumably, you 'should' be under 25% mana for 25% of the fight.... So that means a ~6.5% uptime of the Spirit Buff.

Results (equalized)
Int Buff: 429 Int
Spirit Buff: 49 Spirit

Remember, these equalized results are assuming the buff procs IMMEDIATELY after it comes off ICD, which with a 10% proc chance, is never guaranteed, even if you hav HoTs rolling and AOE heals going out.

From a regen standpoint.... you actually fare better using Heartsong; the Cataclysm enchant. Yes, the Int buff is a healer throughput stat, and increases our output... but depending on your breakpoints (haste), value of mastery, and if you get regen from Crit, Windsong can work out superior... it seems like we have no real 'healer regen enchant'.

If this is intended to be a more regen viable enchant for healers, it seems that the % mana threshold would need to change, amount of spirit granted, or just always give both buffs. (adjusting numbers of the buff, to keep it within budget).

Jade Spirit, seems like a pure caster-DPS focused enchant, and the spirit proc is just a bone to throw healers. Is this the intended purpose of the enchant?

That's compelling math, Derevka. We'll check it out. I know we tweaked some enchants lately, and it's possible Jade Spirit was included.
