WoW.exe Process doesn't end on exit...

I log into the game...runs/works fine but if I exit the game I either have to restart or Ctrl+Alt+Del and kill WoW.exe to make the game start again. If I don't kill the process the game won't even attempt to start/open and gives no errors. This only happens with WoW and no other programs. Suggestions?

Hi all,

If WoW.exe stays in your running process list after you exit, you may want to check any security programs on your computer to see if it is still holding it back. Try temporarily disabling your Internet Security software to see if your firewall or antivirus program may be locking the process.

Try running in Selective Startup and run WoW. Exit it and see if it still stays in memory - http://www.blizzard.com/support/wow/?id=aww0558p

Some Custom UIs can hold the game back while it is exiting. Have you tried deleting your Interface folder and trying the game?

The 8800GTX cards had some issues with the game but I haven't seen a report of it holding back the game from exiting. I'm not sure what else to try since it hasn't really been reported to us. You can try using a program called Process Explorer and see what the game is trying to do after you exit it.

Non-existant process would make it hard to troubleshoot. :(
