Edge of Madness, GMs, and You

In the past couple days, I have petitioned 3 different Game Masters regarding a bugged boss encounter in Zul'Gurub - Renataki of the Thousand Blades - in the Edge of Madness. The first petition occured after he did not spawn, and consumed a hard-to-gather consumable, and wasted the time of 20 people including myself in an almost-obsolete instance. The GM replied saying that the issue was known to the designers and programmers and is being looked into, and that they are terribly sorry for the inconvenience.

The second petition was filed by me 2 days later, asking the Game Master if the boss encounter was fixed or not. The GM replied 3 hours later telling me confidently that the encounter was definitely fixed and A-okay, and he was happy to be of service.

Happily, I gathered 19 others and murdered Jungle Trolls a second time tonight, only to get to the Edge of Madness and find that the encounter consumed another potion, but did not spawn the boss. Angrily, I file my third petition and ask the GM to respond.

The GM does respond of course. I get heated up and shed off a bit of the nice-ness and ask (politely still) to reimburse either the potions we consumed, spawn the boss for us, or pass the message on to the developers. Lo and behold, this one is no help either, apologizing constantly for his "lack of power."

Aren't they the GAME MASTERS of World of Warcraft? Could I get a QQ plz?

Thanks,
Inhibit @ Tichondrius

It would appear that some misinterpretation has occurred, Inhibit, for which I apologise. I'm going to personally ensure this is looked into. :)

Q u o t e:
Beak-face, is there any update on the status of the boss repair, or status of allowing restores? We had plans to return there tonight... :)

Senna, I would strongly suggest not attempting the "Edge of Madness" event until you hear further word from us that a development resolution has been implemented. I am sorry that this event is not currently functioning. Here is our in-game Knowledge Base article on the subject:

Q u o t e:
There is currently an issue affecting the Gurubashi Mojo Madness (also known as "Edge of Madness") event in Zul'Gurub, in which attempts to summon the bosses shall fail, but still consume the materials used.

If your group has already tried unsuccessfully to summon a boss, please have the player who actually used the materials submit a petition for further assistance. Otherwise, please refrain from making any attempts to summon Edge of Madness bosses for the time being -- we are currently doing everything possible to resolve the matter. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you for your continued patience.

Unfortunately the quest is still having issues, Shadeflux, I would avoid attempting it. I am very sorry for the frustration this has caused; we hope to have this resolved as soon as possible.

We do not need a reminder of an issue, Rankin. In a game as immense as this, changing one seemingly insignificant thing can impact a different system somewhere completely different. So all issues must be thoroughly researched, reproduced, investigated further, and then possible resolutions can created and be tested. If that resolution does not cause any other issues it will be implemented in the live version of the game.

We have not forgotten, Rankin.

Bump just to let everyone know it is still broken.

While I appreciate your desire to keep us apprised, Jalala, it was not necessary for you to "resurrect" this thread in order to do so. That said, I'm happy to report that measures are being taken in an upcoming content patch that should resolve the issue preventing the Edge of Madness event from functioning properly. We are much obliged to have your continued patience until that time, while we work to implement these changes. :)

The upcoming content patch should bring with it a more permanent resolution for this issue, folks, at which time the "Edge of Madness" event -- if the live functionality matches that verified in our internal testing -- ought to perform as designed. Thanks again for your continued patience. :)
