Blizzard Post
The first thread maxed out in about one day (big surprise).

So, let's continue!

Original post:
Just curious on how many people actually don't like Arena. Whether you are a PvEer or a PvPer, if you hate Arena, post.

And no, it's not that I'm bad at Arena, it's that I just don't like it. I will still not be doing Arena in S4. I'm grinding out any honor items that require ratings right now so I have everything ahead of time, and I'm just going to go with S2. I will continue to be a casual, continue to enjoy BGs and World, and continue NOT doing Arena, a mild stat penalization is insignificant compared to doing what I enjoy.

Post in this thread if you don't like Arena.

EDIT:

Neth would like to know WHY we hate Arena. So not only post, but say why. Please keep it constructive.

I'm going to say, I don't mind you continuing the thread. What I would ask is that those responding and discussing, do more than post that they like or don't like it. This thread otherwise only serves as a poll thread and doesn't really discuss the issues that some people may have with the Arenas.

It's understandable that the Arena isn't for everyone. Some people enjoy them for what they are, some want the challenge, others feel it's just too much. That's fine. But providing constructive feedback involves more than just a few spare words saying you like or don't like something. Please add in the "why" and keep it constructive if you feel the need to express yourself on this topic. Thanks.

Why I hate Arena (personally)

-It encourages exploits like line of sight issues
-Only certain specs/classes are viable, not fair to others
-Seems to bring out the jerk in many players
-Feels like boxed in, overglorified dueling
-BGs continue to get the short end of the stick because of Arena
-Doesn't feel like real PvP, I prefer big 20v20 battles
-People cheat constantly, in every way possible
-It just isn't fun, BGs are fun but Arena isn't
-People fully geared in S3 can farm low level brackets (is that fair?)
-You have to grind BGs for weeks just to be at all competent in Arena
-Resilience ruined crit-based specs in PvP
-...and it's being forced onto people who don't like it.

If you add the first thread with this one, it's almost 70 pages of players who hate Arena. It should be noted that this should be a highly relevant figure that I hope Blizzard has the sense to take into considering in future updates. While the forums is obviously not the whole playerbase, it's pretty obvious that something is wrong when this overwhelming amount of negativity towards Arena explodes within a day of this htread being posted.

Anyone else find this sort of insulting? Its like Neth is saying "if you dont like arena's, its because you just cant handle it."

I assure you, you're reading too much into that statement. "Too much" meaning, some people feel it's too much work, time, etc.

We want people to enjoy the Arenas as another aspect of the game. We understand not everyone will like them, but we also continue to work on it to improve the experience where we can.

As to those that expressed concerns over the balancing of classes, we've also stated before that we work very hard to make sure that changes on the PvE end have as little impact on PvP and vice versa as possible. That being said, we are always looking at what can be done to achieve better balance as well.
