Do you tip your tank?

You've just finished an instance with a fun pug and got the xyz piece you have been waiting for to drop. You have little or no repair bill. Your tank did a great job and has 51 gp repair bill. So, do you tip? If not, why not? If so, how much?

If he did a great job his repair bill wouldnt be 51g.

Cheer! This was going to be my main point in the reply.

I have many other thoughts on this, but In short, as a tank I would not accept a tip. If you want to tip a tank, go for it. I think it's wrong on many levels. Plenty of people have costs that go into running a dungeon. Beyond the obvious dungeon associated costs (varies per class), I have many dps friends that will use elixirs/flasks/oils on a run to make it smoother for the group.

Sometimes I get a little silly or drunk. Especially when I play with my sister. So if we're joking around and goofing off and wipe the group, both of us will send the tanks 20g or so to apologize for our behavior. Especially if he's a good sport about it and jokes around with us.

When Wrath of the Lich King releases, please avoid drinking and operating the vehicles available in Lake Wintergrasp.

Kind of strange but doesn't the elixir, potion, food, and oils/sharpening stones kind of go across everyone in the group more or less equally? The tank will consume more heal pots than mana pots, the casters more mana pots than heal pots but the consumption of either is probably fairly close to the same.

Most players in pug groups I've run in since the launch of the game until now, don't use elixirs, stat food, oils, flasks, etc..

Perhaps that's my own personal experience. My main point by adding that point was -- the people who do this spend more to enhance the group's success, and they aren't/shouldn't be tipped, imo. Again, I'd certainly never accept a tip for tanking a dungeon and at full broke, I'm at about 60g.
