X Faction Trade + Harassment Guild

1. Does it violate the ToS or EULA or whatever if I transfer items and gold from one account to another? Or if I know a guy on alliance and we agree to trade for a set price through the BB AH or something? Is that a violation? I mean...especially if I own both accounts?

I've gotten mixed responses. on This one.

-----------------------------------

2. There is a guild on my server that uses Ventrilo to operate as 1 single group. The have the Alliance guys that we'll call Team A and the Horde guys that we'll call Team B but they operate as a single guild. They're purpose is solely to accept gold from other people in game to camp members of the clients own factions. For isntance:

If Bob the Alliance Mage decided he really didn;t like Susie the Alliance Warlock he could pay this guild 50G to camp her corpse. Its very hard to avoid being camped ot the point that you can't play when you have 5 alliance 'members of this guild' circling around you on gryphons while their Horde contact stands over you (assuming you too are horde). He can add you to his friends list and track your zone, thne tell his alliance guys where you are.

Said guild has also proclaimed themselves the ones responsible on our server for administering gank-til-they-log policies on players that they feel violate the RP naming guidelines.

Is this shady and terribly unfair? or...I mean...its kinda bullying. You can't say no to these guys whether they ask you for money or service or tell you that you can't go into a certain city without paying beucase they will camp you until you cannot play at all.

Is this ok?

I know its a pvp server....but if you CAN"T level or leave a town.....cause of wahtever reason....what do you do? Reroll elseware? Transfer off? is PvP camping EVER harassment?

Ok. Phew on the cross faction trade thing.

But like....damn....for real? People can bully you into giving them hundreds of gold on regular basis so they don't camp you until you can't play anymore? Isnt that like...mafia? Doesn't anyoen just play like pvp Im horde your alliance...lets have war? Why do people have to bully you..for GOLDS....

I dunno....I guess I understand. I think its kinda....silly. But...your probably right.

Thanks! I guess ill have ot toughen up or start farming gold ot pay these thugs off so I can level.

Hrm, you could try organizing a counter operation that punishes them for their transgressions. A 'strike force' if you will, that defies their operations and strikes harder whenever they engage in this practice. A 'body guard' operation, if you will.

It may take time to get going, but it could be very satisfying - and if enough players have been dealt a bad hand by this group, you may have more volunteers that you might expect.

Also, are these players accepting payment from the same faction to arrange attacks on players of the same faction? I gather that the answer is yes.

Are they also accepting 'pay offs', where a camped player buys out his own 'contract'? Do they solicit for that?

Well, upon examining the situation, it doesn't seem that these practices directly violate our policies, though some (like the fishing tournament thing), could come close.

It really does sound like it is very much done in the spirit of RP, despite how inconvenient their activities can be for their victims. It also sounds as though there may be players ready to defy them.

This could even be an opportunity for like-minded players to turn this into a pretty incredible RP based war, where the 'gang busters' battle the Cartel.

Still, if it seems like their behavior is really crossing over the line, or they engage in more blatant violations of policy, please feel free to report them via an in-game petition.

Q u o t e:
I have wondered about this type of situation before, and what Blizzard's stance would be, and from the sounds of it I am a little disappointed. In Blizzard's ToS (and GM ticket opening service), they say that corpse camping is not an issue a that can be reported under harassment. In this exact same service they also state that an issue of harassment that a GM CAN assist with is (and despite the quotes I am paraphrasing here) "Any action caused by one player deliberately intended to grief another, or interfere with the enjoyment of the game".

In the situation that the OP described, it certainly sounds like corpse camping, which has been identified as an issue Blizzard will not assist with. At that same time, it most definitely falls in with Blizzards own definition of harassment, grief play and deliberately detracting from the enjoyment of the game by other players.

Where does Blizzard stand on this CSF moderators? By Blizzard's own definition, these players have been harassed, but they are essentially being told to shut up and color (not literally, popular expression in the military though =P) and either join this group, or form one of their own.

A quick review of our PvP realm specific policies should help answer that question for you:
