I wouldn't have thought a warlock would have problems with them, but as a priest it definitely took me a bit after ending with an empty mana pool to find out that mana burn was the way to go with those guys.

I've lost the link to the stat tracking page (most dangerous NPCs), anyone have that handy?

Thanks! Looks like they're ~650... oh well.

They never actually kill anyone though : ).

Yeah that's the thing, they aren't that dangerous by themselves but they can really wear you down for what would usually be a fairly straightforward fight. Their heals are made of pure power.

Every class should have a counter to this. I love that mob because it teaches anti-caster technique other than outright DPS. The four characters I've played so far up to these guys are rogue, mage, warlock, priest. On the rogue, I kicked the heal or saved kidney shot for the end. On the mage, I counterspelled it. On the priest, I had specced silence by then, but mana burn was effective along with psychic scream to interrupt the heal. On the warlock, I feared it at low health and finished him off before it broke. I pull these knowing I'm gonna fear em, so I make some room. Warlocks can always curse recklesness if it's running into trouble.

I can definitely say they made me think about approaching mobs in a different way than I had before then, at least on my priest. In a way they're artfully designed to force some amount of critical thinking, that not all enemies are created equal.

Whether that was the intent or not I can't say, but they were a learning experience for sure.
