Realm Latency/Connectivity Issues

Good evening, everyone.

As you may be aware, we have been experiencing persistent realm issues recently. The moderators of the Customer Service Forum are constantly in communication with various departments regarding this issue and hope to provide timely updates. In an effort to consolidate the number of threads that are created on this issue, I request that you post here rather than creating new threads.

Please feel free to post in this thread regarding the recent realm issues. If you are experiencing any realm issue that you would like to bring to our attention, please post this information here. You are more than welcome to post questions, and we will attempt to provide an appropriate answer as quickly as possible. I must, however, discourage posts bumping simply to bump the thread. Let's keep the posts productive and civil.

I appreciate your continued patience, my friends. We'll be providing you with additional information the moment it becomes available.

If you are unable to log into a character as a result of recent realm issues, using an alt, please submit an in-game petition under the stuck category. A member of our In-Game Support staff will provide assistance as quickly as possible.

This sticky thread is being used to consolidate information regarding the recent realm issues that have been transpiring. We are constantly monitoring the situation, and are using the information provided herein to assist us in keeping tabs on anything that may occur.

Having a large number of sporadic threads regarding issues that may arise does not assist us in making sure that the information we have is kept in one location.

I would like to thank all of you for any information regarding issues you have been experiencing and we will continue to monitor and check on all issues reported within this thread. Please note that while we may not respond to each individual issue, you have my word that we will look into and work towards resolving the matter.

I would like to ask you all to remain civil and constructive within this thread so that the information is easily tracked and accessible.

Actually, I translate the money into stacks of one-dollar bills and craft a myriad of piñatas out of the currency. I then fill the insides with larger bills, seal'm up, and spend the rest of my evenings thwacking each effigy until it rains down wealth, prosperity, and tears.

I wasn't chastising your cynicism and satire, Shrikfear; I know you folk are angry. That doesn't mean I'm going to let such a jab pass without an equal counter. :)

No one's dismissing your concerns, my friend. This thread is more an information "hub" for we posters to relay information back to our Realm Technicians. The one I linked, however, is open for dialogue and is updated frequently.

Good evening, everyone.

I just got in this evening to see that we are experiencing some more realm issues. As you may be aware, this is a persistent issue we've been battling with for quite some time. Our DBAs and Realm Technicians are trying many different things to resolve this issue; however, we have yet to find a permanent solution.

I would appreciate it if you could provide us information regarding the types of latency you are experiencing in game. Additionally, please post your trace route in the stickied thread as Syndri has requested.

We'll get this taken care of as soon as possible, my friends. I appreciate your continued patience, and send my sincerest apologies for the interruption in gameplay.

Try the following, Pat:

Close WoW . Go to your World of Warcraft directory (default location on a PC is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft) open your \WTF\ folder. Open config.wtf with a text editing program (for PC, I recommend Wordpad).

Locate: SET realmName "Arena Tournament x" where X would be the arena tournament #. Delete that line, save it, boot WoW and login.
