After much discussion with Blizzard, I continue to get the standard emails about my request to reopen the account. Blizzard simply states in a canned message that they have looked at the information regarding this issue and have decided to keep the account closed.
Now here is the story...
about a year ago this account was given a 72 hour ban, for no apparent reason. At the time, I complained and after some discussions and research it was found that my daughters computer was infected with a trojan that allowed someone to access and play her account.
recently, about a month ago, this account was closed, the reason given was that it was exploiting the warcraft economy. We have been away on vacation for 2 weeks and upon return had been playing, when my daughter go disconnected in the middle of play. Upon relog, she was told that the account was closed.
In this case we have not found any trojans or viruses (we installed Spyware Doctor and Kasperky AV after the last episode). However, no matter how much I beg, Blizzard will simply no give us a chance to open this account. Interestingly, it was found that there were emails from someone claiming to be disabled and wanting the account open. It was then that we noted a Keylogger that was not picked up by either piece of software (as they were not updated in some time) and that person again was using my daughters account.
Certainly, I can understand Blizzards need to secure its service, but in situations like this, when you have a breach of security at the client side, how are we supposed to know, or be vigilant enough to see what is happening, especially when the kid is only 7 but plays like she is 15.
I just think that their should be some way to appeal the decision verbally or via a forum, we/she have spent 2.5 years playing this game, now the main character she was playing is gone, and she is so upset she does not want to play WoW ever again. So now that she is not going to play, I am also starting to feel like I should quit too. I know that Blizzard does not care about 2 people in a sea of 10mil, but we honestly did NOTHING wrong, other than not being tech savvy enough to keep our systems clean from professional hackers.
Best Regards to All,
Metatronn (Deathstrokes Daughter)
P.S. if a GM reads this please please check into this info and give my girl a second chance. If needed I can call you personally and discuss the situation with you.
