WoTLK: Goodbye 70 dungeons?

When WoTLK is released, can we expect to see the same thing happen to Arc, Steamvaults, SLab, MgT, and the other level 70 BC instances that happened to BWL, Scholo, UBRS, Start, DM, etc? Will they fall into a grace of unknown? Nobody really runs the old content anymore - especially places like DM and UBRS, which require a key to access. So can we expect the same fate for Arc, which also requires a key?

Or are the level 70 instances going to be revamped completely on heroic mode, and change from being level 70, to level 70-73? (i.e., upgrading the loot drops from all the bosses, increasing the exp from the mobs on heroic mode, having new quests run through them)

I'm just curious, really. It's a shame that so much of the old content is rotting away. Dire Maul in particular is a really fun instance, but nowadays is only ran by locks for their mount. Is Sethekk next to take that place? (Ran only by druids for epic flight form?)

We don't have any plans to update old content for level 80 players. Instead we plan to provide lots of brand new content for our players to go through in Wrath of the Lich King. We talked about the dungeons a bit in the next BlizzCast too, so stay tuned. ;-)

Any chance of introducing heroic versions of "classic" dungeons? I mean not all of them, Heroic Stockades would be as bad an idea as you could get but:

Heroic Stratholme
Heroic Deadmines
Heroic Shadowfang Keep
Heroic Scarlet Monastery

Would all own.

We don't have any plans currently to do this.

thats sad to hear. personally i as hoping that blizz would finally get around to releasing updated versions of the old 60 content. it might just be the bias of having played those instances for so long but i enjoy them more than TBC instances and i miss running them. i still think it would be fun to run herioc lvl 70/80 scholo or strat. or even a heroic DM north. if the lvl 80 content is more of the same TBC instances then i'll probably stop renewing my subscription and go find another game to occupy my time. at least i wont have to listen to "not enough rage" anymore

The Caverns of Time: Stratholme dungeon will let you experience that dungeon in a whole new way at least.

Yep, theories abound as to exactly what our role shall be. Do we help arthas slaughter the townspeople? Do we ignore him and concentrate on malganis? Do we run interference for the infinite flight so thier extra swarms of mobs dont wipe Arthas out? Is it some unholy combination of all of the above? I cant wait to find out!

It should be a blast.

But more on topic, this is a route we'd rather take with old locations with the exception to date being Naxxramas.
