Epics replaced by greens again? Really?

I keep seeing people saying "lulz, ur epix r gonna get replaced by greens in the xpac." But I've heard (read) from others that there isn't going to be a complete itemization overhaul like there was with tBC and the stam upgrade.

So, the question: Does anyone actually know anything? Or is everyone just talking out their butts like normal?

It's been stated by blues (sorry I don't have a source for you, but I lurk these forums enough to know), albeit in a somewhat cryptic way, that this will be happening again. So all the work I'm putting in to gearing my alts is pretty much pointless.

Also, you should see this coming like a giant comet- they made honor so much easier to gain in 2.4 in anticipation that everyone would have a chance to enjoy the gear briefly before it is replaced by greens in a few months.

One of the goals in expansions is to level the playing field a bit for players and we like providing extra opportunities for players who (just as an example) want to get to high-end content but are currently far behind on things.

Keep in mind that the availability of higher level items is greater than it was before the launch of The Burning Crusade.

So take that for what it's worth. :)

blue deleted their post :(

It didn't get deleted. It's still there. It just took a bit for some people to see it. :)

but there isnt the huge gear gap to be corrected so we wont be seeing people double thier hp and spell damage within 5 quests in northrend.

There was also a change in how much Stamina items got when The Burning Crusade came out and the new items should maintain the consistency they have now and not jump up a huge margin.

It's one of the reasons why I'm not going to be continuing with the game. There's virtually no point to even getting the sunwell epics, because there is nothing in the game that is actually hard enough to need them. What's the point of being able to one-shot a mob a few milliseconds more quickly then the one-shotting we can do with current gear?

It's been rather disappointing. Blizzard has turned the game into nothing but stupid skilless grinds.

But a level 76 creature may be easier to kill with Sunwell gear, right?

Because you won't be upgrade that gear before 76, right?

I don't know, we'll have to wait and see won't we? ;-)
