so, im not the kind of person who gets really pissed at blizzard, or blames them too often. But i have to bring this up, i was banned since friday night, till monday night (of course my first free weekend in the past few months) for saying the "f word"

So does that mean, that from now on i can just report every person for saying somthing like that? just because i tell blizz its SUPER OFFENSIVE to me and i demand they get banend?

i seriously cant imagine somone getting seriously offended on that word, i mean do they like go to the police if they hear somone use it on the bus? seriously.

Oh and one more thing, whats with blizz just being like "oh hey he reported that other guy, ok lets ban him"
how about trying to hear what the other guy has to say? and not just spamming the "auto-ban" button on your key board....

Ive said it once and i'll say at again:

Blizzard game masters are ham-fisted a-holes who ban people for things that should at the very most, get them a stern warning.

I was once banned for saying "french is not really a race."

I will never let it go.

Firstly, Game Masters do not write the policies, nor are we in charge of the ESRB folk who rate video games. We are simply here to uphold our policies and game rating. If you don't know about the ESRB and what constitutes a Teen rating, I suggest looking it up before simply insulting the whole of this department.

Second, surely you're aware that you forgot to include the rest of what you said which led to your temporary suspension from the game. Surely... 'cause if you intentionally left it out, it'd almost be as if you were trying to paint the scenario in a completely separate light to make our department look bad.

But.. she's right. French isn't a race. The five biological races are caucasian, mongoloid, aboriginal, negroid and (I think!) micronesian. Each individual descends from one (or more) of those races.

I wasn't the one that brought up race. The poster I was quoting did. In fact the policy violated in this case, which was noted in the email sent to the poster, is:

Q u o t e:
National
This category includes both clear and masked language which:

* Promotes national hatred
* Is recognized as a national slur
* Alludes to symbols of national hatred

Q u o t e:
How can stating this fact possibly be offensive to anyone - let alone "the whole of this department"?

I didn't say what the poster said in game was offensive to the whole department. I was speaking about the part of the post which was derogatory and insulting:

In this scenario, it would have helped if a GM contacted me, instead of me finding myself banned. The priest should have recived worse punishment then me, because of the things he said. But he didnt....

This scenario still doesn't quite hold water. Whenever a player reports another player for harassment, all involved parties are investigated for harassment. This means a player cannot simply instigate name calling in the hopes of encouraging another player to violate the harssment policy so that this player can, in turn, report the provoked player as a means of griefing.

Whether or not the violation the Priest may have received was more severe is still entirely contingent upon that account's history of violations.

There is not a "list" of words that I am able to provide, there are guidelines. People generally know what is considered inappropriate. To help we have our policy page, though it doesn't list specific words it does give you a general idea.
