Soon seems to have arrived, yet Cairne characters are not available on the Amory.

What is the ETA on this?

There.

Is.

No.

ETA.

Available.

=(.

I know that this is not what you want to hear. The appropriate parties have already been notified though, and this will be resolved as soon as it can be. In the meantime, I apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that this situation might have caused for you guys.

Yes, actually, there is word on the ETA.

That word is 'unknown' =/.

To be honest, this is a situation where an ETA will very likely not be provided. Cairne is likely to simply be available via the Armory someday (hopefully soon).

In the meantime, if you're worried that our staff will somehow forget if not reminded constantly, then I would seek to ease your fears. That will not happen, and Cairne has not been forgotten.

It will be available via the Armory when it is though, and that is the long and the short of it.

Oh, as a side-note: You asked how your behavior could be considered a violation of Forum Conduct, and it could be considered 'trolling', especially given that you've already received a response.

I'm choosing to interpret your posts in a rather tongue in cheek fashion at the moment though, so I personally won't be taking action on past posts in this thread.

Long enough to have reiterated this concern to the selfsame individuals multiple times. And to different individuals, as well. Sometimes a "no" is just a "no." :)

Aye—Vistor's got the long an' short of it :)

We've consistently touched base with our Web Team regarding Cairne's present situation, Emachine, and the news has always been that the matter is still being addressed

While I'm uncertain what specific issue may be impairing a more immediate update, I can tell you that it's most definitely being looked into :)

There is no ETA, however, as Vistor noted—should anything change, though, one of us will absolutely give you folks the heads up

Thanks for your patience in the meantime! It's quite appreciated

Or it could be someone that gets paid to watch the PR decided it would be bad to start forum banning people who are simply frustrated at not having their avatars and armory after 7 weeks of existing. Sure he's getting a little excessive, but he only wants what some hundred or so other servers have.

No, not really.

It is exactly as I said it is, and no more.

I am not deaf to the concerns of the Cairne population, but neither do I have any ability to hasten the implementation of Cairne data on the Armory or access Avatars in the forums.

The appropriate parties are very aware of the situation, and we've repeatedly stated that an ETA is not available, nor are there currently updates available. I wish it were otherwise, but at the moment it is not.

While I am genuinely sorry for the delay, refusal to accept the only answer that we have available, and posting the same or similar things repeatedly is not a fast track to preserving one's posting privilege.

You can be absolutely certain that if anything changes in this regard, that we will leap on it like a plump clumsy hiker dropped into a cage full of starving mountain lions and make a post to let you guys know accordingly.

Will you commit to making that post in the Cairne server forum?

I can personally assure you that once matters are addressed, should I be on shift, that I will be happy to update one of the threads herein. I won't speak for my colleagues—despite the fact that I know they believe the same—but I can swear allegiance (in this respect) should updates present themselves.

We all have taken it upon ourselves to check up on this matter nigh-daily. :)

Unfortunately, I am unable to, nor am I in a position to commit to making a post of any kind anywhere =/. I only say this to be as straight up with you as possible.

I am only at liberty to post and moderate in this forum, and nowhere else in the World of Warcraft forum system.

IF (and that is a substantial if, as I do not wish to mislead you), an update becomes available, then either I or one of my colleagues will post it here.

In the meantime, I do ask your forbearance, and I appreciate your patience while the issue is worked out.

As to the first notice being deployment, there is quite a lot going on over here. That is possibly the greatest understatement I have ever made in this forum.

One of the concerns that is frequently expressed here regards warnings or updates regarding certain developments. Some teams are so involved in completing tasks that sending update emails out regarding their activities is neither part of their purview, nor deemed appropriate in many cases. This in no way speaks of their competence or our systems. The tasks they face daily are herculean and I applaud their efforts.

Frankly, I'd rather they simply resolve issues as swiftly and completely as possible, than spend considerable time composing update missives to every department awaiting information from them for every task. If you suspect that we are the only ones awaiting results and information, please allow me to gently but firmly disabuse you of that notion.

Some things are simply 'fixed when they are fixed', and that's the long and the short of it. This is especially the case with a system such as the Armory, which is not only unfinished, but still very much in the beta phase for a reason.

I understand your position, but it may be appropriate to focus your energies elsewhere and simply check in here from time to time to see if there's been an update. If information is available, we'll strive to make an announcement on it.

Rest assured that the matter is not being ignored.

Aren't you blues paid to moderate the forums? I doubt they are paying you to troll around argueing with the customers, that's for sure.

What a fascinating statement.

I am moderating the forum in this case, by clarifying why something that a number of players clearly desire has not occurred yet.

Since the posts here seem to have upset you on some level, I am assuming that there is a different issue that you are likely concerned about. May I ask what that was, or were you just feeling vaguely hostile?

If you take issue with how we do our jobs, Kanga, feel free to write to [email protected].

My job is to try to assist as much as possible the people who come here and post. Answers have been given regarding this situation and trolling posts are not required. Feel free to test me on it.

Thank you, Kanga. :)

I understand this issue is frustrating to most involved but some posts, which only can be taken as provoking and hostile, do not belong here.

We have provided what answers we can, demands for more information or attacks on us aren't tolerated. Did you read the other posts where we have provided what information we could or did you jump straight into the last couple of posts?

In either case, thank you for providing you feedback, it is appreciated. As soon as we have an update to this situation we'll provide it.

so does this mean i can postpone my payment for as long as it takes blizzard to update us to the armory and get us our chracters to post on and still play ?????

/Just askin.

Your subscription, pays for access to your account.

Access to the forums is not part of your subscription, it is a privilege granted to those who have active accounts with us. The ability to select a specific Avatar to post on is even more of a privilege.

The Armory is not only not a service that you currently do not pay for but it is also in Beta, and by using it you are participating in the Beta period of the system.

I just don't understand the hostility here, honestly if it does not stop I will simply start locking threads that are derailed in this way. I would prefer to keep this thread open for possible updates, but that is up to you all.

While I'm uncertain of how this will directly affect the Armory display, forum avatars are intended to appear within the next four hours. There was an issue with syncing between databases that has now been resolved. :)

Really? Well, darn. =/

That said, it's quite possible that the Armory still hasn't pooled any new data from which to create your characters' profiles. I'll see what I can find out, though; I was assured that this was remedied last evening, though it's possible the resolution process required a more lengthy timetable than first provided.

Aye. Though information bits should have started to appear around roughly 12am this morning, so the connectivity complications may not be directly related. Even so, if members from Cairne have not recently accessed their respective characters, it's quite likely there's been no switch for our Armory to start rendering data.

I'm going to wait for stability concerns to even out before I start to consider using my poking stick. :)

Okiiieee dooookie. There was poking of small gnomes with sticks and general frivolity; and, yes, results! It turns out the resolution discovered last night was not "turned on"—to use a generic term—as intended, so the pooling process didn't begin as scheduled. Just received word that the "switch"—to continue with the generalities—was flicked and that all you Carinies should see yourselves in full, living avatars (hopefully) sometime this evening.

I'm totally super serious this time. >.>

Q u o t e:
Greetings. Interesting thread with lots of updates.

I am wondering if this "fix" to forum avatars for Cairne applies to all realms?

I transferred realms recently and my new transferred character does not appear in the forum character selection (or the armory - my guess is this has something to do with the armory not updating arena teams, guilds, and new characters since mid-last week).

Thank you.

The issue addressed in this thread is exclusive to Cairne at the moment. It is fairly normal for other posting Avatars to take some time to become available, and it shouldn't be too much of a cause for concern though =).
