It has come to our attention that the text color indicating an item enchant is currently displaying as white rather than green, in tooltip windows across Azeroth. This is affecting all known enchants in-game and applies to those enchants placed on both armor and weapons. Should this issue concern one or more of your characters directly, please rest assured that only the color of the enchant text has changed; the effects and bonuses granted from your chosen enchant are enhancing and modifying your game play appropriately. In other words, folks: don’t panic! You are still as powerful and capable of slaughtering the masses as you were yesterday.

While we are unable to provide a timeframe as to when this issue may be resolved, do understand that we are working to restore all enchant text to its rather lovely and proper green hue in as small amount of time as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this color swap may have caused you, and ask kindly for your patience as we attempt to repaint every item tooltip in existence. ;0)

Current honor totals have been reset; however players may still display their highest lifetime rank title (accessible from character sheet) from the "old Honor System".

The final honor calculation was on December 5 and everyone’s rank was updated accordingly so that players who achieve a new rank for that week have the opportunity to display the title they have earned on their character. Please note, however, that no new PvP rewards will be unlocked for purchase with this final “old Honor System” calculation, regardless of any increase in rank.

Honor points earned each day may now be spent as a form of currency, rather than a method of 'ranking'. One can check their PvP tab of your character sheet to see your honor information. Please note that PvP rewards are no longer unique.

Marks of Honor earned from battlegrounds are no longer turned in for reputation or honor. They are now used in addition to honor points in order to purchase rewards.

Two New Arenas are now available in three different modes: 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 matches Players may queue up at Goblin NPC's in Stormwind, Ironforge, Orgrimmar, Undercity, and Gadgetzan

Please note that Skirmishes are the only type of arena combat available for players until they reach level 70. You will not gain points for winning matches like you would in the ranked matches at level 70. Skirmishes are set up to be a way for players to have fun as well as practice for when they are ready to do ranked matches.

A large number of issues can occur due to complications with a players User Interface (UI), and may often be resolved by restoring the UI to its default settings. Some issues relate directly to the default User Interface settings, such as:

  • Chat settings

  • Action bar settings

  • Keybindings

Due to changes to the software and hardware on a player's computer, these UI settings may become invalid, which can cause issues to arise. Many times, these issues cannot be resolved simply by pressing the Defaults button in the lower-left corner of the Interface Options window. Resetting the UI allows the player to remove all custom UI settings and begin anew. From there, the player is able to reconfigure settings to their liking.

The second type of User Interface issues is due to third-party user interface modifications, otherwise known as addons. Following a patch, many custom UI addons become out of date and cause issues to occur. A few examples of issues caused by the use of custom UI addons are:

  • Known recipes or schematics appear to be missing.

  • Receiving errors when attempting to access a letter in the in-game mail

  • Character appearing un-textured and white upon logging in.

  • Character's items and abilities displayed as ?s (question marks).

These are just a few of the more common issues that can occur when using out-of-date custom UI addons.

This is due in part to the ongoing changes made to the standard World of Warcraft interface, which require most addons to be updated so that they may follow those changes. While resetting one's User Interface will remove the functionally of these addons, it should also restore the User Interface to a working state once again.

In both these cases, players will often be given instructions on how to reset their User Interface. Please note: Merely disabling one's addons may resolve such issues, but the only means by which one may guarantee that a given issue is not being caused by the UI is to fully reset it.

The Reset UI process mainly involves either renaming or deleting the WTF and Interface folders, which may be found in the World of Warcraft directory. Usually, this is where WoW.exe is located. As an update to this procedure as of patch 2.0.1, we ask that players please refrain from deleting or renaming the WDB folder. The steps are as follows:

    1) Log out of World of Warcraft to your desktop, thereby exiting the game completely.
    2) Navigate to the World of Warcraft folder, which is often found in the Program Files directory (the default path is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft).
    3) Either rename (or delete) the WTF and Interface folders. (Note: If you do not wish to permanently lose any third-party addons you may have accrued, or macros you've written for your characters, you would be well-advised to merely rename the folders, rather than delete them entirely.)
    4) Log back into the game by double-clicking WoW.exe, ensuring that you do not reinstall any addons before doing so.

Some players wonder why Game Masters so often offer these steps to address issues which have been reported. The short answer is: Because they work. A veritable cornucopia of issues can be resolved by resetting one's User Interface, even if they do not at first glance appear to be related. Also, advising players to reset their UI is helpful as a starting point, especially if the issue is not one for which we have devised a more specific resolution. If the issue persists after resetting ones UI, then the Game Master may investigate other possibilities in their efforts to resolve the matter at hand.

There is currently an issue where players may no longer have all of their previously owned bank bag slots. For this reason, additional items that do not have enough space to remain in the inventory will appear to be missing. These items are actually in "overflow" slots and will not reappear until enough space is created in the character's inventory and the character is relogged.

This is an issue about which we are aware and currently working toward a resolution. In the mean time, we ask that players do not attempt to work around the issue immediately by purchasing the bank bag slots again. Not only could such an action cause further issues when a blanket resolution is implemented, but we will also be unable to reimburse for the money spent on extraneous slots.

We will provide additional information via this post as soon as it's available. In the mean time, we do apologize for any inconvenience or frustration this may be causing players.

***Update***

We have issued rolling restarts for all realms Wednesday morning, 12/6 at 2:00 AM PST in order to apply a fix for this issue.

Please be aware that this fix will not replace items already affected by this issue. If you have already been affected please contact the Game Master department for assistance by opening an in-game ticket below, or e-mailing WoWGM@Blizzard.com

With this patch we have released many features/changes in preparation for the upcoming expansion. One of these changes is that Paladin items will now be found by the Horde and Shaman items by the Alliance.

Although some of these classes might not be available by the opposite faction until the Burning Crusade release, this is indeed an intended change.

The player quest log (hotkey L) is displaying the incorrect gold reward for level 60 characters who should be receiving the XP to Gold conversion when completing quests. This is purely a display issue in the quest log. When talking to the quest NPC the quest reward displays the proper amount of gold. Players will still receive the correct amount of gold for completing the quest, again this is only a display issue in the quest log.

Throwing weapons from last patch have now been replaced by a new system as a part of the changes for the expansion. The new throwing weapons will now lose durability from the stack; however, they can also be repaired. When making these changes we were not able to convert the previously existent throwing weapons. They are now labeled as "broken" and are considered junk by the system. Players wishing to make use of throwing weapons will need to obtain the new versions of these items.

We feel the changes that we have made to throwing weapons will help to make them more viable as a ranged weapon type in the long run.

Some players have reported that they are experiencing frequent disconnections, invisible characters and items, and other players and NPCs appearing as "Unknown," among varied other issues. Representatives from our Technical Support Department have offered a potential resolution in a sticky thread on their forum, which we encourage players to attempt if they feel comfortable with navigating the folders in their World of Warcraft directory. Please note that any further inquiries or concerns regarding this process should be directed to Technical Support.

It has come to our attention that some players are experiencing issues with being unable to log into specific characters on their account; this is something of which we are aware, and for which we have devised a resolution. Please submit an in-game petition with an alternate character stating which character(s) are unable to log in, and a Game Master shall determine how we may be of assistance. Thanks, ladies and gents. :)

It is extremely important to note that as of patch 2.0.1 honor gains have been reduced. For more information on that change please read this post: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=55975614&sid=1

Estimated honor for the day currently does not take into account the diminishing returns effects that are in-place when a specific player is killed multiple times. This means if the same character/characters are killed several times by a player, then that player's estimated honor for the day will be artificially high and instead show what you would expect if each of the kills had been different characters.

There is a display issue affecting the “Today’s Honor” totals that may display an ellipses “…” instead of the estimated honor total. This can normally be temporarily corrected by either logging off and back in, or using the /console ReloadUI (typed exactly as it appears) command.

When estimated honor totals climb above 6,554 they reset and begin to count over again, this is only a display issue and no honor is actually lost. For example let's say you gained 10,000 honor in a day, it would actually display as 3,446: 10,000 - 6,554 = 3,446
