People don't seem to get upset if you quit WoW. But they will get upset if you /gquit and join another guild. There is no difference really.

Also, I want to /gquit and join another guild that is actually going to progess but I would feel guilty. Any suggestions from experience?

Generally, people feel that when you leave one guild and move to another that you are rejecting them and abandoning them. That said, not all guilds are like this and often feel that if you aren't fitting with them or getting out of being with them what you want, that you are better off moving to where you can be happier.

In the end, you need to do what you feel is best for you. Be sure to be open and honest with those you are leaving so they understand your position. If all goes well, you can break off amicably and still have people you can play with and keep in touch with.
