Policy Update on Selling Codes for gold?

A long time ago I asked if it was ok to sell TCG items for gold. I was pointed to many blue posts that stated it wasn't OK and on par with selling Gold for RL cash.

I've copied some of the blue posts and kept on top of them, reposting them on the General Forums when others ask if it is OK to sell Codes for Gold.

As far as I know, the policy is under review, and while I can send you to the Customer Service forum, they may or may not be willing to talk about it either. :/

So I'm asking... Is the policy being changed?

We have a problem where the policy consensus in General (about this and other issues) is not the policy consensus in Customer Service. I'd rather not become unfriendly with Malkorix's fuzzy legion again, but I can't say that keeping players informed of policy changes isn't an issue.... I can barely keep up with them as a MVP.

Aww, you're always friendly with the Legion, Faiz.

My most recent post does cover our current policies. It's worthy of note that this has been a subject of much contention, and that those policies are indeed subject to change.

We are completely aware of how sensitive this kind of exchange is, as well as the symbolic power it has achieved. Our intention, for the moment, is merely to allow the transfer of highly sought after in-game items that originate from products or events that are closely tied with World of Warcraft (which is to say, specifically and only, Convention In-Game Item Codes and TCG Loot Card Codes).

This provides for a monitored, in-game means to do so, and does not extend to any other transfer of gold for code of any sort, at all, period.

Also, thus far, 'Very Bad Things' have not occurred as a result of this policy on any kind of significant scale. If they do, you can bet that the policy will be subject to immediate review.

This seems like a really bad policy. This means in-game gold can be traded for real-life cash, right?

Example: Player pays for gold on some gold selling site. Gold seller A "gives" player a valid in-game TCG code, player "trades" TCG code to gold seller B in-game for gold. Repeat process for continuing business model.
