The current honor system, including the ranking system and honor you have accumulated are removed in the next patch.

You will retain your title for your highest rank achieved, which you can turn off as well, or display other titles. Rewards from the various battleground reputations will only be available through the new honor system. The battleground reputations will no longer work towards buying rewards, but you will get a special title if you hit exalted with all three factions.

The new honor system will be in place which does not use ranks but instead allows you to simply accrue honor points which can be saved or spent, like currency, on honor rewards.

The release date for the next patch has not been announced, and likely will remain that way. We do tend to patch on Tuesdays so you can use that as a loose guide if you wish.

How does this help world PvP ? , if anything you're forcing people to JUST use BG's

The new honor system isn't fundamentally intended to increase world PvP. The removal of dishonorable kills should do that alone, if not the addition of world PvP objectives in the expansion.

However, I do personally see it increasing it as even though you're probably not getting as much honor from being outside of a battleground, you're still getting some. As that honor never diminishes you have the ability to participate in world PvP and not have to worry about not making a rank. If you want your rewards really really fast then sure, battlegrounds are probably the place to be, but for everyone else you'll be able to get out there and make some Local Defense channels light up and have some fun without worrying about your honor for the week.

Other titles? Pray tell, what are they? I've only seen the highest rank achieved in the PTR.

Well the one from being exalted with all of the battleground factions is one, there are also titles given to members of the top arena teams of a season (which last until the end of the next season). There are others, to be sure, not all of which will be PvP related.

By far the worst decision that Blizzard has made for PvP. Whats the purpose of removing the honor and ranks of people who have worked so hard and especially the people who are close to rank 13 or 14. It's extremely frustrating as well that no compensation is given to these people in any form. Any GM able to explain this reasoning behind this?

The new honor system is at its core a much more forgiving and easy to use and understand system, requiring little more than the participation by the player at his or her own pace to engage in. The new honor system allows everyone to PvP at their own pace and achieve rewards how and when they want to. It allows the intense players to get their rewards as fast as they want without worrying about competing for them, and the casual player to work on those rewards at any pace they want.

Unfortunately the current honor system, ranks, and honor simply can't be translated to the new system as the ranks and honor aren't consistent. Everyone that has participated in the current honor system has played towards their rewards and has obtained the rewards they have worked towards, and hopefully they're happy with what they've obtained.

With the new honor system you don't have to obtain that same high rank again, you simply have to obtain enough honor to purchase the rewards you may still need. There will of course be players whose current goals won't be fully realized before the patch, and that's an unfortunate side effect from making this transition.

If we could accurately provide compensation in the new system we would do so, but unfortunately the current system works in a way that just does not make that possible logistically speaking.

Okay so now that honor points are spendable do we still have to wait every tuesday in order to get them? Or do we get them as soon as we get a kill?

[edit]As others have pointed out my previous statement (below) is incorrect and the honor points are given after the nightly calculations. So, "You can watch your honorable kills increase, and after the nightly calculations you can go spend them." Yes, that will do nicely. Sorry for any confusion.

They're given as soon as you get a kill. You can watch your honor points increase, and when you get to the amount you need, go spend them.

Is there anyway Blizzard could also let us know what will happen with ecnhants like Crusader on the expansion? WIll they or will they not get a lvl cap? Will they be as powerful on a 19 as they are on a 40? I hope its ok for you to answer that here even though its not the topic. I read everywhere I could and I still find consice answer. Thank you.

It's a bit of a thread hijack, but no, current enchants aren't being changed in the next patch or Burning Crusade expansion. There will be limitations on new enchants introduced with the expansion that will keep them from being applied to low-level items.

That's not true, Drysc. Your honor points are caclulated on a daily basis, at least in the beta. So for example, I kill 80 people one day, then get access to for 400 honor points from those kills the next morning.

Thank you for correcting me. I was thinking of arena team ranking being calculated on the fly (which really has nothing to do with anything) and for some reason applied that to honor. I've updated my original post with the correct information.
