Why is all healing ranged?

There are melee DPS and ranged DPS.
There are melee tanks and (fight-specific, gimmick) ranged tanks
There are ranged healers, but where are the melee healers?

Blizzard, please add a melee-range healer. Make a class that punches the life back into people.

I'd play a class that could only heal by running in punch range.
