Reythur, I don't see Durotan on that list. Is it undergoing maintenace as well? Should we expect it to be up by 3:45pm PST?

My apologies, Absynthe. I updated the list. =)

Are you trying to piss us off by saying all other realms are currently available. I love getting mocked at GG.

I assure you this is not the intention, Chedda. This is merely to inform those who play on other realms that they are not currently affected by this issue. You all have our sincerest apologies regarding the issue at hand. Our technicians are working to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

Q u o t e:
Does anyone else find it interesting that they have plenty of time to edit people's posts (leik zomg! pwnd!), and yet can't find the time to a) fix the servers for good, or b) keep us updated as to what the problem actually is (and no, "urgent maintenance" and ETAs aren't really what I would call "updates")?

Editing a post takes mere moments; where as information may or may not be provided on a consistent basis due to the lack of substantiating, relevant news. I would also like to apologize for any confusion, but I am a Game Master, not one of our Realm Technicians. I do not fix the realms, I am merely acting as a conduit between them, and you. I will provide relevant information when I have it, and when I can. Besides that, there is nothing more to mention besides that; therefore I have enough time to moderate (and therefore do my job) this thread. Once again, my apologies for any confusion.

Any possible compensation, or server transfers that are provided will most likely be stated on our General forums — if either are provided. If anyone would like to see either of these provided, you will want to visit our Suggestions forum (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/board.html?sid=1&forumId=11122).

I agree, Its almost like they're giving us a lil taste, just to take it away and then point and laugh as we start to cry... =(

My apologies folks, but many times in order to fully test the realms they need to make them accessible; this does mean that if it does not remain stable, it will be taken down again. I realize that this can cause some frustration, but if everyone would remain patient and stop spamming the realm to connect to it each time that it does happen to become accessible, this may allow them to remain stable longer.

This is how troubleshooting works, folk. You try things, and if that does not work, you try something else. This also takes quite a bit of time to resolve — computers are finicky things, and fixing one issue can cause another. They are aware of this, and are constantly working to resolve it. I would like to ask once again for everyone's patience in the matter while it is being worked on.

Thank you.

However, for anyone curious as to why I edited the post it is simple: rather than pointing out to everyone that hits the next "Blizz" post button of your actions, I can merely edit the post to inform the one that did it. I thought I was being nice. *shrug*

If they knew what the issue was they could give us a timeframe for when it will be fixed depending on the severity of the issue.

That's awfully idealist of you.

We're not trying to purposely withhold information here. Just not to make promises we can't keep--or inaccurate estimates, since players will take the latter for the former.

We're doing our best.

Q u o t e:

thats not exactly the technical rundown. i realize that somethings not working. helen keller can see that.

And I, in turn, also realize that something is wrong; however, we of this forum are not server technicians and, strictly speaking, I think that the time and effort of our techs is better spent actually resolving the issue than sending us emails to let us know that the firewall proxy IP has to be flushed from the mainframe with a flash buffer. That information's entirely unnecessary to provide and doesn't result in anything but armchair technicians patting themselves on the back saying "Ah yes, silly Blizzard. All they have to do is reverse the polarity, but they don't know that. I do, though."

I agree.

However, I do think a senior manager of the server team should be making some sort of statement instead of hanging the front line support to take all the flack.

Like it or not, taking flack is part of our job. To a certain degree, anyway.

Now, if someone thinks that the customer would need to push harder for, say, a hardware upgrade than the very people who work on the servers do, that someone would be incorrect.

We've no reason to deceive you. We want to keep you playing, is what it boils down to. You're welcome to take away what you wish from this thread, but if you the reader believe that nothing's being done, you're wrong, and it's as simple as that.
