AI gravitating towards you?

Do the AI, when patroling / idling, slowly gravitate in your direction? Or am I just horribly unlucky with adds?

I find myself watching them sometimes to see if they "randomly" turn in my exact direction, and it happens much more often than not.

Not as far as I know. There's a bounding box they're restricted to, and they just randomly patrol within it.
