[RESOLVED] Name Change Conundrum

Greetings,

I have two characters whose names I would like to have swapped (ie, NameA becomes NameB, and vice versa). I would rather not change NameB to NameC (which I don't even want), wait 90 days to change NameA to NameB, then another to change NameC to NameA, nor do I want to delete NameA so that that name becomes available immediately.

Any insight to this problem would be much appreciated!

EDIT: Issue resolved. Thank you!

This particular situation isn't precisely ideal when placed outside of two 90-day cooldowns, as—at present—we do not offer a simple naming switches. That said, there is one potentially feasible option available, though it does possess a few notable risks.

Of your two characters, Kolorian, delete the one of the lowest level (Character A); this will allow its name to become eligible for use approximately 20 minutes after deletion. Hop on over to the Paid Character Name Change feature and switch the name of the higher level character (Character B) to that of Character A. Then, petition in—immediately following the name change or a day later, up to you—and request that Character A be restored; as its name will now be taken, it will be flagged for a manual name change upon next login. Wait 90 days so that Character B's prior name is freed and then pay to have Character A's name changed.

Again, this path is a bit risky, as relies on the presence of available limited restorations and that either of names in question are not snagged up in the interim between deletion and process initiation. In the end, it would be best to simply wait the full 180 days to ensure that nothing goes awry.

Whatever you choose, my friend, I wish you luck. And patience, if necessary. :)
