About the 25 man raids.

I used to be a pretty hardcore raider a couple months back, that was before I got a job and started going to college. And I miss it, I want to be able to raid again, so my question is, are the new 25 man raid instances going to be nearly as time consuming as the current 40 man raids? No complaints, I just love and miss raiding and am hoping that the new places are not only gonna be more strategy based, but not take an upwards of 4 hours.

We expect that the overall completion time of one 25-person raid dungeon will be less than the completion time for a 40-person raid.

A lot of this 'saved time' will come from preparation and organization of the raid, not necessarily due to the difficulty or expanse of the dungeon, itself. We expect to see a reduction of time from "when we decide to start a raid" to "when we actually zone into the raid."

Q u o t e:
which dungeon? BWL takes less than 3h for a full clear once you get it on farm status.

Actually... after really reading what you wrote are you saying that the dungeons will be about the same length, but due to decreased overhead there will be less personal time investment?

Dungeons will vary in length. Obviously, the time needed to clear a dungeon will vary from raid to raid, as well.

What I can say to that point is, we are putting in a lot of winged dungeons. Things like Magtheridon's Lair are short like an Onyxia raid and would comprise the briefest wing of a dungeon.

However, something like Karazhan is expansive, but also has raid timers to allow groups to break-up the time needed to complete the dungeon.
