Realm Issues - 02/09

The realm, shadow council, (and bronzebeard) is down. I think one or more hungry cats were set loose in the same room the hamsters powering the realms, and then the cats had a large feast, featuring roasted hamsters. :(

It's a pity my group was about two pulls away from the first boss in HEROIC mech. We got to where we are in less than 25 minutes. Why do I have a feeling my group, *if* we can reform, have to clear the trash mobs again, even though they aren't supposed to respawn for another two hours?

We are aware that Shadow Council, Dunemaul and Bronzebeard have recently become inaccessible. We'll get them back up in running as quickly as possible.

Your patience, and coffee, is much appreciated! ;)

Alright, everyone.

As a bit of an update, several realms are experiencing log in issues at this time. Please try to keep any discussion regarding this issue isolated to this thread.

We'll provide updates here once we have any additional information to provide.

This is currently an active issue, my friends, one which is receiving all due attention and haste. Given this, it remains our intention to keep all of you as abreast of the situation as possible; should new developments arise, we'll be certain to provide such information herein. :)

If the Customer Service Forum is "not your thing," there's always General Discussion; Nethaera, I believe, is presently devoting quite a bit of time to this matter, as well.

For clarity, we're investigating two separate concerns—that of specific realms remaining offline and that of potential (and perhaps related) issues with authentication. Our realm technicians and administrators are presently on the case, though, and should any news develop, arise, or *poof* into existence (much like reverse of agile ninjas), we'll be certain to provide an update.

Thanks for your continued patience in the meantime. :)

Q u o t e:
So...you have no idea what's going on or when it will be fixed, as usual.

There's no ETA at this time; that's correct. In fluid situations—such as this—where delicate systems are involved, it remains unwise to provide solidified windows, as it's likely the investigation and resolution process may require more time than that expressed and promised. Suffice it to say, though, we've quite a few people working very diligently; our goal remains to have all realms active as quickly as possible. :)

Though you're posting from a gnome, Amberson, you're behaving like quite the troll. Please be more mindful of your peers and of your surroundings. There are many frustrated players flocking to this forum in search of information, so I'd like to keep this thread as civil and pleasant as possible. :)

Our technicians and database administrators are presently attempting to bring those realms previously affected back online at this time; our present (and hopeful) ETA lay around 10:00 AM PST.

This remains separate, however, of concerns related to authentication. We're pursuing this matter, as well, though do not currently have an available time frame in which we hope to have all realms (and players) back in the game and melting face. Soon as I know, though, you will. :)

Thanks for your understanding and patience, folks. Much appreciated.

Both Nathrezim and Shadowsong remain offline at this time, though are predicted to go live shortly (again, hopefully prior to 10:00AM PST).

With this, we're still investigating ancillary issues related to authentication—the most likely cause for those difficulties experienced at log in. While no ETA is yet available, we hope have this particular incongruity resolved as quickly as possible.

As other players have suggested, for those of you still unable to view your realm on the Selection screen, please attempt the following process:

Go to Start, Run and type:

    ipconfig /flushdns

The ETA for all realms being online has been pushed to 10:15 AM. We're still addressing matters of authentication, as well, so please stay tuned. :)

Not at the moment, Alkrimil, though we've still our nose to the proverbial grind. :)

Alright then. It's looks as though we've got a few new contestants. So, quick reiteration for those of you just tuning in—

Those realms previously experiencing direct connectivity issues have been brought back online. For reference, they are:

    Shadow Council
    Scarlet Crusade
    Frostmane
    Terenas
    Stormscale
    Dunemaul
    Boulderfist
    Suramar
    Uldum
    Bronzebeard
    Feathermoon

Nathrezim and Shadowsong are presently undergoing testing and heavy moderation, though should be up shortly.

With this, many players are noting missing realms from their corresponding Selection list. Should this issue be affecting you, please attempt this temporary workaround:

  • PC—

    Start, Run and type:

    ipconfig /flushdns

  • Mac—

    10.5

    dscacheutil -flushcache

    ipconfig /flushdns

    10.4

    lookupd -flushcache

    ipconfig /flushdns

We realize this process has not proved globally successful and thus continue to investigate and work towards resolution for this issue, as well as mitigating concerns with authentication.

Those issues preventing Nathrezim and Shadowsong from achieving desired stability are still under heavy investigation and scrutiny; these realms remain our top priority. ETA at present is tentative.

Residual issues should now be primarily resolved, with all realms reporting on the Realm Selection list as intended (save Nathrezim and Shadowsong). If specific realms remain absent on your screen, please close the client and begin again. :)

There's still a bit of time for weed-whacking and chitchat, Anthraxus; Dpsxpress' character rests on Shadowsong, one of two realms which remain offline at this time. :)

They're presently conducting testing, Dps, while monitoring both realms' progress—the dips in connectivity are merely part of this endeavor. This said, it appears as though Nathrezim is, indeed, gaining stability, displaying a moderate population of players. We hope Shadowsong will follow shortly, though are unable to guarantee a time at which this will occur. Just keep hanging tight!

Our realm technicians and administrators have already begun to isolate affected realms, and, at present, it appears authentication issues are specific to battlegroups Retaliation, Ruin, Vindication, Stormstrike, and Nightfall. We hope to have this matter resolved shortly and all players back to killing everything in visible range. ;)
