I was questing normally until all of a sudden i got booted, i thought it was just a normal disconnect until a message popped up saying "error retrieving character list". what the hell is going on? i have like 8 guys from 64 down to 40 on a list of 2 servers and a bunch of levels ones scattered across other realms. i can see my level ones just fine but when it comes to the servers were all my guys are at. it gives me this message. what do i do!?

My colleagues and I — and by extension the Game Master department —will be unable to provide reimbursement for any direct downtime experienced, nor are we capable of addressing this matter in detail. You have our sincerest apologies for the situation folks; I assure you that we want you back and playing as quickly as possible.

This said, please keep an eye on our forums for any announcement of general compensation, if and when it may occur. Thanks!

I would like to apologize for the situation everyone; while I would love to provide you all with an ETA I do not want to do so without very solid information backing that ETA. As I do not have that information, I will not provide one. We are however working as hard as we can to make sure that these issues are resolved.

I--and we et al--appreciate everyone's levity given the situation. We know that realms being down means no fun for a select number of people.

Understand that we want the realms to be up as much as humanly possible and to keep you playing, and we find absolutely no pleasure in keeping you from doing so. Thank you to those who're taking it in stride, and for those who aren't, I empathize. Just remember that we're here to help and we're doing so to the fullest extent possible.

In short, <3

This is just pathetic.. Just undo the changes you guys have made in the last day - if that means taking PTR down because thats what was causing the probs on live, so be it.

They are completely and entirely unrelated.

I understand that you guys take repetition as a sign that nothing is being done or changed, and I respect that viewpoint because you're not privy to the goings-on here. The most I can offer is that your assessment is incorrect and work is being done whether you see it immediately or not.

Regrettably, Valhallaresa, we do not have the information readily available which would allow us to state exactly what the issue is with the realms; however I do not that our technicians are constantly working on them — even harder than normal currently — and they want them to work at top notch capacity just as much as you (as well as us here) do. Sadly things do happen, and they need to be corrected and sometimes it is not something that can be fixed by the reset button. They are always looking for ways to produce greater realm stability, but again, things take time.

Your empathy is much appreaciated... now how 'bout something a little more tangible to those who pay the bills 'round here like a dbl XP weekend to make up for lost time? Your serious consideration is appreciated as we take this down time in stride.

Its not time to start selling my Blizz stock is it?

Thx!

Reythur was kind enough to provide the information for Billing earlier in the thread. If you want to inquire about compensation, you have two options--contact Billing or wait for it to happen en masse.

As for stocks, chap, I ain't yer financial advisor, but I'll take a run through Stocks on my pally if you've got a 70.

Cyclone should be functioning properly now; are you experiencing an issue? If so, what might that be?

Please help me here, everyone on Ventrillo is able to log onto Ysondre, seems there is a good amount of people on too, maybe it's something with my computer but as I stated before, "Logging in to game server" any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was able to access Ysondre just fine, Lanius. Have you tried getting on a different realm at all? (Try hitting cancel, that may bring up a realm list for you.)

I have characters on the Realms, Ysondre, Kargath, Ghostlands, Turalyon, Blackrock, and Eitrigg, and out of the named Realms, Kargath, Blackrock, and Eitrigg are the only Realms that the game will let me access, I've tried to cancel yes, and I've also tried to repair (I honestly don't know if that helps someone reccomended). Thanks for the feedback.

I'm really not sure what is causing your issue; there are no other reports of this that I was able to locate. You may want to speak with our Technical Support department about it.
