Arena points

I was told by a GM to post in here about arena points and how they are tallied.

It was unclear to me in your arena thing if games actually matter.

Lets say a team works there buts off one week and actually goes down from there 1415 rating to 1400 rating. Now this team does manage to rack up 300 games. It sounds to me in the arena info that even know this team racked up 300 games, they still wouldn't get as many arena points as a team that lets say played 10 games cause they were lazy, but have a arena rating of 2000.

Am i interpreting this correctly, or are games cycled into how many arena points you get?
