WoW making couples: Common?

I was wondering, with 6 million people playing it, even with all the "cross dressers" and the distances and the weirdness, sheer numbers and randomness means that two people who "fit" together will have met, and that it's probably happened many times. Which makes sense. Take millions of people, make them interact for hours at a time, and things will innevitably happen.

Do you know of any couples that have formed thanks to WoW? People who'v found the love of their life thanks to this game? Maybe even married? Maybe in a few years we'l see some "WoW Children" ?

For exemple, my guild leader and main tank, and one of our main priest played and chatted together for a bit over a year, before meeting in real life, and a few months later moving in together. They both lived many, many miles away from each other, yet apparently love conquers all. They're both currently happy together.

And I might be heading towards something similar.

Has this happened to anyone you know? To yourself?

I was also wondering if a Community Manager (blue) could pipe in to say if anyone has ever sent a letter or e-mail to Blizzard thanking them for the role played in forming a couple.

Yep.

We've received many such stories before. A European couple recently sent in their story to the European community team as well. For as much deception as can occur online, there is often just as much truth. After knowing someone for a long while even through the game, you can begin to sort what is true from what is false especially since things that are untrue will come to light at some point since no lie is ever completely successful at staying covered up for long.

I have also made many friends/acquaintences through online gaming and networking that I would have never had the opportunity to meet before. In many cases those friends have gone beyond just within the country, but throughout the world.

Just as a small aside- My other half and I met over the internet.

This thread has been cleansed back to PG. Please take anything NOT PG to another forum. I really don't want to have to shut down the thread completely because a select few want to share a bit TOO much with others.

Thanks. ;)
