If I say "no", what do I get? :)

We haven't changed who is vulnerable and who isn't but we have changed a few things such as guard level in some areas and (I believe) what happens when you kill some of those npcs.

The removal of the DKs is just as much a part of testing as anything else is. We are keeping an eye on it and how players react to it etc.

You guys are taking into effect that the first week or so will be complete and utter anarchy, right?

Sure. As with anything there is a certain element of overkill (pun not completely unintentional) that will occur.

I think the best thing for everyone to do is to test and see how things go. Our preference is at this point to leave them out and so far it looks as if that will be happening. If we need to adjust something else to compensate for rampant killing and disruption, we'll look into it when necessary.

I would be an advocate of removing DKs on PvP/RPPP severs, but not PvE. The people who choose PvE generally prefer questing/grinding without unnecessy hassle, but they still have an avenue to PvP when needed (battlegrounds). Just my two cents.

What we do to one realm type we need to do to another realm type generally speaking. It's not nearly as simple as putting them in for one realm type and not the other. In this case it's an integral part of the Honor system that is being put in. So it needs to be all the way in or all the way out.

("Either you are in, or you are out." Brownie points to whoever knows where that is from.)

Do the devs feel its critical to have civilians in the game that can be killed? Its just always seemed obvious to me that either make civilians invulnerable or if they are killed respawn immediately and then again invulnerable for a short time(5 minutes). Seems like the only reason DKs were ever put in was for greifing lower level players. If it was possible to always make these NPCs available within 30 seconds or so, it seems to solve the greifing issue.

Actually yes, we do feel that having unkillable NPCs on a large scale takes away interactivity. The choice should be there to kill or not kill them. In turn this makes for more pvp choices.

DKs were put in at the same time as the honor system to address so many people killing NPCs that were needed, but by doing so it was a bit more insurance than we really needed since most PvP was then moved to the Battlegrounds. I'm not saying we don't want PvP to still continue in the Battlegrounds because we definitely do, and we want it to occur in the Arenas and in the World via the World PvP options that are implemented and being implemented.

We don't want to kill city raids but we also don't want to have cities under siege 24/7. That's why you don't see the major city leaders dropping any sort of loot to make them a prime target for people trying to equip their characters. (I still would like to see some epic cheese though. mmm mmm)

There is a very delicate balance that we are trying to create here and it's not as simple as doing one thing only. It's like working a cryptex (ala Davinci Code). Getting everything just right is what everyone strives for. In this case though the code consists of what a variety of people want and figuring out exactly what combination is going to work best to make the most people happy.

I also tend to side with others that killing npcs does not for PvP make however, in absence of other people to pvp with, killing npcs can sometimes be like the "come out and play" signal.

Were you looking for the answer Project Runway, Neth?

We have a winner. ;) Obscure and yet, repeated often enough in every commercial possible for the show.

To answer the LFG channel thing, we did keep an eye on it. Please note the new LFG interface and design. You can't bring up the channel as a means of winning an argument when I know you're bluffing and can go all in with the new interface. Now gimme your chips.

Currently on Beta, you can slaughter orc children as they're flagged for PvP. I'm guessing these are the NPC's you've unflagged as civilians :P

I'm curious as to where you found orc children to kill and if you have.

There's a couple children near Echyakee's spawning point. A house (more like a hovel) just off the road that leads from Durotar to the Crossroads.

Have these actually been killed before? I'm now curious since I figured all of the children were invulnerable.
