I am a graduate student in the field of Linguistics, and I am interested in doing some research on the linguistics of real-time chat. Seeing as I already play WoW and the game has /chatlog built in, recording the chat that occurs while I'm in game seems to be an excellent and efficient way to collect some beginning data.

I've read the EULA and TOS in depth, and I haven't been able to find anything that specifically prohibits using records of in-game chat for research purposes, however, I am aware that Blizzard takes their intellectual property rights very seriously, and I certainly wouldn't want to use the logs illegally. I'd just like to know what uses are permitted for logs of chat recorded in WoW.
