Have really enjoyed reading all the little tid-bits that the CMs have been able to post so far, but would love it if the trend continued till we get full patch notes.

So, CMs, please don't stop, keep posting little things here and there about the upcoming patch ....

oh and incidently, what are we looking at, as ETA? I know "soon" but.. soon as in .. next week perhaps?? or maybe this week? or maybe couple of weeks?

TIA

We can't give an ETA other than that the notes will go up when the PTR does.

Then when does the PTR come out?

When the patch notes do?

If I'm not mistaken haven't the notes traditionally come out quite a bit before the PTR goes up?

No. Generally we try to put them up in their entirety at the same time. This helps signal that the test realm is available and gives everyone information on what they should be watching for and testing within the test realm.

I can't give an eta because it's all dependent on where internal testing and QA feel the patch is. There is plenty of content in the patch and we'd like to make sure we're making a patch that is as stable as possible for accurate testing.

I can't ballpark it either just in case we don't make the ballpark. While there are many people that don't mind when we miss a mark, there are others that will try to hold us to it. We would rather err on the side of caution and put it up when it's ready and then let everyone know it's available right then and there.

It is well on it's way, however, and I'm looking forward to experiencing the Sunwell Isle.

Not even a Coor's Field ballpark estimate?

No sorry. I can't even say if the ballpark will have a retractable roof. ;)

so we might be getting 2.4 in 2009 is what you are basicly suggesting.....

You're the "glass is more than half empty" sort aren't you? You have to be fun at parties! :)

Neth! Why don't you guys respond with Soonâ„¢ anymore?

I still do on occasion. When it seems appropriate. :)

they never put "unable to be fun at parties" as part of the job description =/
that being said I'm proably just reading too much into it

:) Don't worry. I still like you.

Neth,

IF certain posts are deleted from the forum (or a specific thread), they must be against the forum code of conduct right? But if they are deleted without being against the FCoC, is a reason given to the poster of the posts? I mean that, IMO, is common newsgroup/forum moderation courtesy, right? :)

(I know it will be deleted Neth, so you can just click on Private message link in my sig and send me a reply) :)

If certain posts derail the main portion of the thread, they are removed.

The PTRs are operated outside the regular realms so maintenance does not necessarily coincide with the launch of it.
