Blizzards empty promises, 1 in particular

We will see 1 expansion every year, it has been longer than a year since BC came out and in may it will be a year since you've announced WofLK. With billions of dollars a month at your disposal, these things should be coming out like pancakes but what seems to be the problem, i work for gamestop and i see everyday no date changes to Wrath, so far its dated at nov. 1rst with a huge possibility of it getting pushed back since any game with a first of the month date is usually subject to date changes. Are you saying that expansions will be Bi-annually?

And there is so much untouched content and i know this has been mentioned before but there was no reason to do WotLK so quickly, what about the maelstrom or grim batol, uldum, Deathwing wherever he might be.

I believe this was covered more than once in the past. While the "promise" in question is being taken out of context, and I don't believe the quote said it was a promise or a guarantee to begin with, we do want to get the expansions out for people to enjoy them, but we have to make sure they are ready first and meet the quality that we expect from our games.

What exactly have you people been doing for the last 8 months?

While I won't bullet point everything, things like Zul'Aman, Sunwell, all of the changes and improvements involved with these big content patches along with working on Wrath of the Lich King come to mind.

You mean the Sunwell that isn't on the test server yet even though some of us have been killing Illidan for over six months now?

Yeah, Sunwell Plateaus that has a lot more than just a 25 person dungeon. ;-)

Along with all of the information we talked about since the end of last week, the Under Development page got an update with upcoming changes we've been working on: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/underdev/

One might say something like zul'aman, which was included with the purchase of TBC, coming out 10 months after said purchase, is not exactly a good arguement

Well, one might also say that it still took a lot of work to get done along with everything else that was released with that content patch.

One would have to be pretty naive to believe that for a second. I am pretty sure you dont even believe it, but hey, its your job.

Or one would have to know more internal details on things like development cycles while keeping in mind everything that goes into the patches, either way works I guess. :)

I have no problem beta testing buggy, untuned content. In fact in some ways I even enjoy it. What I have a problem with is waiting 8+ months between said content.

Is this still a game for guilds like mine, or are you guys going to focus all of your attention on a different group of players?

If you enjoy it then I would say yes, it is.

I do enjoy it, when new content is coming out at a decent pace as it did previously. The current pace is definitely not enjoyable. My guildmates and I have been raiding the same content for 8 months straight. This is not fun.

Can we expect this pace to continue, or is this just a temporary lull and you guys hope to return to the previous pace which you were able to sustain for the first two years of this games existence?

3-5 months between content = OK. 8-10 months between content = Not OK.

With the problem being time lines I really don't have anything to discuss regarding this. We provide the PTRs and information on things when they are ready and it'll be up to you from there.

So skip 2.4 and the Sunwell and work harder on the expansion. The Sunwell is targeted at a tiny portion of your player base. The expansion is targeted at the entire player base. Honestly, who's in charge at Blizzard?

I don't mean to be rude, but the source of your information is wrong. A lot of things are going into patch 2.4, not just the 25 person dungeon.

How are we supposed to know that when you all won't post the darn patch notes?

http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/underdev/ gives you a pretty good idea of what I was referring to. :)

Didn't you also promise that we'd get ULDUM in a patch by Dec 2006.....

While I doubt it was a "promise" - There are many things we'd like to do, but as time passes many things can change.
