What exactly do the account specialists do?

What I am wondering is, is there a file for each account that shows the actions of that account over its "lifespan"? How do the specialists know what was sold/transferred/traded on a compromised account? The reason I am asking is because I recently had about half of the stuff that my account lost restored, YIPPIE! But I am wondering, why only half? And why no gold yet? What does it take to track down epics my guild bank lots because I had access to it? And one last question, one of my characters had a fairly large sum of gold on it, I specifically stated how much it was, and I am wondering why that wasn't returned to me in the first part of the restoration, you take 4300 gold from Character A on account A and transfer it to Character B on Account B doesn't this throw up a flag to the specialist? Anywho I am very interested in how this process works.

Imagine attempting to sift through a seemingly endless amount of logs which depict every transaction, every death, every zone movement, and every piece of loot acquired and destroyed for every character on an account, Amelianna. Now, try to imagine having to pinpoint each unauthorized transaction, each unauthorized behavior over the span of what usually proves to be 1 to 5 days. Though our Specialists are well-trained and well-versed in such a process, they're also human beings and can overlook specific facets (i.e. lines of code) if not searching for them directly.

This a watered-down, vague description, of course, but it proves accurate on a small scale.

Go ahead and email your assigned Specialist back, Ame; he or she will be happy to give your case another review. While restoration is clearly not guaranteed (as such always requires the provision of tangible proof, something which may not be available), there's certainly no harm in asking. :)

It may take your Specialist a few days to respond (we give them breaks on occasion)—just a head's up. Give it a week or two before becoming antsy; after such a time, should have not have seen neither hide nor hair of response, go ahead and "bump" your concern. :)

Thanks for being so patient!
