Snake Trap Exploit

Recently, Shadowglen (that's the Night Elf lowbie starting area for those who don't know) on The Venture Co. realm has had a problem with 70 level Horde hunters coming and dropping their snake traps down right in front of where new players spawn, resulting in their immediate deaths.

While The Venture Co. realm IS an RP-PvP realm, this tactic is a blatant exploit. What are the rules regarding this sort of behavior? Is doing this reportable as the hunters are using a known exploit to kill non-flagged players?

We need some help here, please. Give us the green light and assure us that you will take this problem seriously. Already VeCo has problems keeping new players.... We don't need this hindering our growth, as well.

We're aware of the issues with Snake Trap, and hopefully we'll have those wily critters behaving a bit more civilly toward the unflagged as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we definitely frown on unleashing them on innocent players! Please report any hunters that you see utilizing this tactic via an in-game petition, and one of our Game Master staff will investigate and take appropriate action.

In the meantime, you may be able to convince a higher level faction member to come down and regulate, if they're feeling charitable =).

It is a known bug, and Blizzard is working hard to figure out a fix.

It is a reportable offense, because they are exploiting bugged game mechanics. However, if they are killing players without the snakes, since it's a pvp realm, it is acceptable to camp them.

Edit: MAL BEAT ME TO IT >.>

Muahahaha!

I don't see any fixes to this in the 2.4 patch notes, which is very disappointing.

You seem to be disappointed about something that isn't released yet, Thornley. The notes you see for 2.4 are for the TEST realm. The final version of these notes will likely change, that is the nature of the test realm, to test changes that may go into the game, we usually don't do them all at once but in stages.

Also don't forget that although we try to include as much information as we can when a change is implemented we don't list 100% of the changes that we make to the game.
