Do high level player stick to 1 character?

I was trolling the armory, looking at characters in high level guilds to get a sense of the gear stats and talents they use. I noticed, for the most part, that many of them had exhalted status with alot of factions.

This made me wonder if the reason they are so good at the game is that they focus all their energy on one character, while the rest of us who have many alts have a hard time clearing Kara because we are spread out on alts and such?
