Gifting the Digital Upgrade

Ok, so I got an irl friend to try the starter edition, i told him if he liked it I'd buy the first game for him. So I went to the blizz store, and there's an option to upgrade starter edition, and buy for a friend. If I buy for a friend can he use that on the starter acc? thx in advance.

Yes, Amageingt, you'll have the option of gifting the digital upgrade of the Battlechest version of the game if you purchase it through the Blizzard Store. Just make sure you select that option when you make your purchase.
