The new page of raid tips that's been posted makes me lol. First, let me say that I like raiding, and I have raided "hardcore" on another character.

So finally, Blizzard has admitted that you'll have a hard time raiding without the use of...

A Raid Calendar

This is not implemented in the default UI. Users depend on addons and off-site webpages to accomplish this.

Third Party Addons

CTRA, Decursive (though I know that's going away), Healers Assist, Heart... The list goes on and on of addons designed specifically for raiding that are often times required by guilds to raid, many of which can significantly lower a player's game performance if they don't have a computer designed for gaming (1 FPS in BWL, anyone? I know I've been there)

Voice Chat

Again, not implemented in the default UI, and again, lowering a player's game performance. Not to mention you have to PAY for this.

I'm not suggesting that all of these be implemented into the default UI because that would cause harm to players that don't raid. But, I just find it silly that they are admitting to the fact that in order for you to get the best gear for your character, you have to depend on things outside of the basic game's implementation, lowering your game's performance to a sometimes unplayable state unless you have good money to spend on a gaming computer.

However, I think many of these should have been implemented into the default UI. Every guild could use a guild calendar even if they don't raid. Also, the addons that aren't needed by non-raiders could be turned off or on to save performance for non-raiders.

These are merely tips to be used or not by players as they wish. Some people play without any add-ons, some feel that they get more out of things with an add-on. Many guilds don't use a voice program at all and some love it because it makes chatting with their friends fun. Not all guilds use a Raid Calendar either. They often just put up a list of when they are going to do certain raids and have people sign up.

If you notice at no point do we say these things are required for raiding.

Don't make a mountain out a mole-hill when all we're trying to do is help people out that would like a little advice.

I've done it before. Just takes some solid coordination. I'm not saying it's easy at all though so don't get me wrong. I'm just saying it can be done.

There are always new players and new guilds on the rise. If we can give people the tools they need with things like this, then it's worth the extra effort. We obviously aren't putting out advanced tips in this case. We'd like people to figure those out on their own and as you said, most guilds when they start getting up there in raid experience don't need these tips anymore.

i tried not using it for the first time a while yesterday, its really puts a class like paladin way back to a roll of pure dispeller in some fights, kinda like when we were pure buffers before raid buffs.

Any suggestions on how (without adding more of us to dispell) we can spend less time dispelling, so we will have more time for healing+the unspeakable act of pally DPS (lawl i know... but sometimes its a nice change.. and only on trash.)

You probably will still need dedicated dispellers (that's what we did) and while it doesn't make your role utterly exciting it gets things done and you can move on to the next encounter. I don't believe things are going to be quite so crazy in the future when it comes to dispelling/decursing given the way new encounters are being built though it still will be needed.

Please note, for the first time ever I am quoting an ascii art. I am hoping it's my last but you never know.

It's Friday, it's been a very very long week and I still have plenty more I need to get done for the day. Use the tips if you wish or not. We've worked very hard to put together something that people that need it can use. There are many good tips on there.

I'm not here to be a punching bag but to give information where I can. I realize people need to vent their frustrations and feel that I am a good target for that (or any of the CMs for that matter). I'm ok with that but some days it's a bit harder to be the shoulder you all want to lean on. I am after all human. With that said though, I'm not going anywhere and if people feel the need to vent, I'm ok with that just sometimes take a deep breath and count to ten before you do so. ;)
