WoW and the Steam Community in-game interface

Is adding WoW to my Games list in Steam, launching WoW from Steam, and using Steam's in-game interface allowed? I don't want to use it and then find out you can get banned for it.

I wasn't even aware that you could run World of Warcraft through Steam. I thought only, well, Steam games could be run through it.

Ah, I see. I've used it only for Orange Box games up until now.
