yet it gets a fix.

druid cat range issue is game breaking in pvp. still no fix.

NE's get upgraded from worse, to bad by going to the "still-range-impaired" tauren distance, but that is not a fix.

I just think its sad that one race gets an aesthetic fix because their non game breaking issue "looks" bad

while the entire druid class still has no official response on their game breaking pvp issues.

orc shoulders look bad so they get a fix, well it looks like i still cant hit this mob...fix??

i do not like being kited by someone running backwards.

for those who know not of the issue, please research "cat form range" in your favorite search engine before unknowingly flaming yourself.

a few for the lazy (at the request of a few)

Here's the link in Etain's sig.

And here's what it could be made to look like, if it would make fixing the bug easier.

that last one i believe involves changing game files against the ToS so I don't condone such actions (however that is what people are forced to do in response to the bug)

having a blue response to this issue is definitely a step in the right direction, however cynical and sarcastic it seems at first. Now maybe we can actually get some official information on the subject. please dont verbally attack the blue.

Maybe Neth is having an off day wich caused them to skim the post and skip over/missread the original intention of the post thereby causing them to post an already addressed solution to the bigger problem.

I know they get paid by Blizz to actually read the posts but we are all human and I know i skim posts all the time. Please keep it friendly and informative. I am just happy that a serious druid issue MIGHT get some attention.

Do you mean this note that is currently listed for the 2.2.0 patch notes?

  • Cat Form (Night Elf) melee attack range was too short compared to Tauren Cat Form and other attack ranges. It has been increased.

I kind of wondered when I saw that honestly... Was it a fairly substantial difference?

I am not sure it was substantial so much as noticeable enough to cause people some issues.

No, Neth, that's not what we're talking about. NE Druids aren't the only one suffering from the catform range bug. ALL druids have been dealing with it for AT LEAST as long as I've been playing. That's about a year and a half. And if I'm not mistaken, it was around for long before I started playing.

It's been documented many times. Many druids have made videos displaying just how bad it can get. We've gotten blue responses verifying that the bug is there, then hear nothing else about it for months. And then, when we ask for a fix, we get responses like this. Like you don't even know there's a bug in the first place.

All that did was give NE Druids the same cat form range issues that my Tauren brethren have to deal with. It's not going to fix the cat form range bug at all, it will just put NE druids on equal terms with Tauren druids.

Make sure you report the issues in the Test forum if you've had a chance to test the change so that it can be looked into further if necessary. It's the best way for us to continue to nail down bugs.

yes neth i do mean that. it specifically says NE range was not as good as tauren so the range got up to the tauren model. however like i said originally in the original post, the tauren model is still completely lacking compared to every other classes melee range. so NE's went from "completely sucking" to only "just sucking" in melee range.

From what I understand, the range issue is a bit nebulous. The best thing I can suggest is to keep tabs on how the change on test affects things and then continue to report the discrepancies and issues that seem to be affecting range. It's something we are keeping an eye on.

I like how this reads as "take that." It's not like druid cat range bug has been in there for years. It's about time Blizzard.

It wasn't meant to read as "take that". It was a legitimate question as to whether it was what they were referring to. I may have skimmed over the reference to the current fix not being a "fix all" right now. Read enough posts and it's easy to do. I couldn't tell you if the OP edited in additional information after I started replying or not so please refrain from flaming the OP folks. It's just a discussion and not forum PvP. ;)
