We've recently received a plethora of petitions detailing the apparent loss of items and currency rewarded from Auction House mail, specifically those indicating a successful or expired auction. When in-game, the letters received will appear normal, though will not possess a visible attachment—this attachment (be it gold or an item) is present, however remains unseen within one's mailbox. This issue seems to be only temporary, with reports indicating a reappearance of missing attachments approximately one to two hours after reception.
Please do not delete such Auction House mails! Full stop.
Should you receive such a letter with what appears to be a missing attachment (again, from one of our Auction Houses), we encourage you to complete a reset of your user interface, as such a process has repeatedly proved to restore visibility.
- 1) Log out of World of Warcraft to your desktop, thereby exiting the game completely.
2) Navigate to the World of Warcraft folder, which is often found in the Program Files directory (the default path is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft).
3) Either rename (or delete) the WTF, Cache and Interface folders. (Note: If you do not wish to permanently lose any third-party addons you may have accrued, or macros you've written for your characters, you would be well-advised to merely rename the folders, rather than delete them entirely.)
4) Log back into the game by double-clicking WoW.exe, ensuring that you do not reinstall any addons before doing so.
This said, if you do not wish to complete the above procedure, fret not! As mentioned, this matter does not seem to persist beyond a few hours; if you're a patient lad or lass, you're welcome to simply wait this issue out.
The issue is still under investigation, folks, so I am unable to provide a time table for resolution or contributing cause. Bearing additional information, however, I will update this thread accordingly. :)
Thanks!
