Just a point about the layoff rumors

Hi,

Neth posted something that bothered me. The thread was locked, so I didn't get a chance to call her on it.

She said:

Just to be clear, the rumor is false. Please see the previous statement Bashiok provided.

But the post Bashiok made just said that the rumor was just that. A rumor. He didn't say it was false. So how can you make the statement that the rumor is false by referring to it?

Are you indeed saying the rumor is false, or are you saying that we should believe what Bashiok said and that's it's only a rumor?

I'm not sure how much more clear we can be about the rumor being false. And yes, I pointed to the other thread to make it clear as well that we hold to respecting individual privacy and do not discuss individuals (as Bashiok clearly said.) I'm going to close this thread so that we don't continue to perpetuate falsehoods.
