Looking at some of the details for the upcoming WotLK and I noticed this:

There has been no word on this yet. The current speculation is that, just like everyone else, DKs will have to start their professions at the beginning.

Be warned, lowbies. If you see a Death Knight coming at you looking to get in on that copper vein or peacebloom... I'd let him have it.

You should probably only believe details from official sources.

There's never been an announcement on how professions will be handled for the Death Knight. We've stated at times that we don't know, and that it could be handled any number of ways.
