"Should", "Must", "Have To", are words that we see regularly in playing World of Warcraft and for many people, they can be a driving force in pushing them toward play that they may not necessarily enjoy merely because they were told that "this" was how it had to be. But, the game allows for more flexibility than that and it's important to remember that what anyone is here for is to merely have fun. Whether that means logging in to PvP, hang out with guildies or friends, doing professions, RPing with inanimate objects (guilty!), or what have you, there are many different things to do in the game that don't fall into the category of "must".

So, to that end, I thought I'd kick up a conversation on what sorts of things you like to do for fun that don't necessarily fall within the scope of "should", "must", or "have to". What are the activities that keep you logging in and what suggestions would you give to others who are looking to stretch their fun factor into new types of play?

Neth posed the question to us, now what about the Blues? What keeps you coming back to play as "normal" players when not at work?

Guildmates, friends, achievements, doing professions, PvP, holidays, exploring, leveling new characters, etc. I tend to bounce from activity to activity just so I don't get in a rut. When I find I'm doing something enough that I'm not having a good time, I try to disengage, do something else for a bit, logout and give it a break etc. And yes, I'm guilty of RPing with NPCs and inanimate objects on occasion. ;)

I also do it for work purposes (though it's not a hardship at all) if I see people are having issues with something or ran into an issue that is bothering them, or just simply to soak in actual gameplay experiences people are having.

This is going to sound crazy, but I do something called re-gearing. Bear with me.

1. As a level 85, you put all of your equipment in the bank, everything.
2. You start with RFC if you're Horde, Deadmines if you're Alliance.
3. Basically, you go back through the game using the gear you get from dungeons or quests if you prefer (I am able to do quests because after level 15, I only did dungeons as a tank on my paladin.
4. Its neat getting the old gear, especially when you get into BC and Wrath dungeons, especially getting the heroic stuff, as you never really do heroic BC or Wrath dungeons anymore.

You guys can proceed to flame me, but I am throughly enjoying this on my Paladin, and I'm debating doing it again on my warrior. Just alot of fun to go through old content and actually use some of the old gear. And it can be pretty profitable selling cloth and enchanting mats from DE'ing old stuff.

I like this idea. Seems like a fun, alternate way to run through the old dungeons.

Are any of the CM's/Dev's what the community would consider casuals? Any of you just out there enjoying the regular, day-to-day aspects of the game, or do you all raid regularly to keep up with the current content?

We all have our levels we play at. I've been more "casual" (if you want to call it that) recently, but we've been pretty busy as of late. :)
