Banned for using Search Option

So something had really been bugging me the last couple weeks. I had been spending thousands of gold a week to be able to reforge and optimize my gear switching in between specs. So i was board at work yesterday and had some free time, so i decided i was going to post an idea on the forums. So i found the general discussion forum and read through all the forum guidelines. So i took the time to look up several forum post regarding reforging and found this post...

This person had basically the same idea i had so i decided i was going to post my opinion on the matter to the thread. So i logged back on today to see if anyone else had posted on my thread and found the thread locked and my forum privileges had been revoked for 24 hours for posting on a thread that was more than a month old.

So my question i s this, why do you give us a search option to prevent spam and then penalize us for using it. So just a word of advice, BEWARE OF USING THE SEARCH OPTION.

PS: i would personally like an apology from one of the forum moderators... phat chance ill get it.
