The second instance is called "Well of Eternity," where players go back in time to see Thrall grab an item called the Demon Soul in order to use it against Deathwing himself.

Thrall

WHAT.

Thrall had absolutely nothing to do with this. Unless we are now changing the course of history, which I thought we were not supposed to do no matter what.

I don't know, I suppose it's too early to tell. Everything else about 4.3 looks incredibly cool. That just troubled me.

That quote from the interview was a little off. Thrall does not go back in time with players to the Well of Eternity. Players will go there to get the Dragon Soul, which will then be given to Thrall to be delivered to the aspects at Wyrmrest. Players will escort him as he carries the Dragon Soul to Wyrmrest in the third dungeon, Hour of Twilight.

Thrall is not a part of the first or second five-player dungeons. He's the central figure of the third dungeon (and I hear if you fail and he dies, his death animation is pretty epic). He also plays a small but pivotal role in the raid, Dragon Soul.

I just wish Thrall wasn't the center of all the newer lore.

Sorry, but he is the protagonist in this expansion, so it'd be a little weird if he played no role in helping to stop Deathwing. :)

Encouraging us to let thrall die.... ?

No, but maybe offering a way to prevent pug groups from falling apart after a wipe: "Totally meant to get you all killed, 'cause check out Thrall's suffering! So cool! We're such good friends now."
