The Character Transfer Site is currently down. Any thoughts on when it will be back up? My character is sort of stuck now :\

Ok. I've let them know.

The amount shouldn't be charged to the card but it is possible that the transfer amount will be "earmarked" for a 3-5 days. I am very sorry for this frustration, our technicians will be looking into this so I would hold off for now.

I'm sorry, Ruxandra, the PCT service is handled by our Billing Department. From my understanding what happened was you attempted to finalize your transfer and input your credit card, the service sends out a call to your bank who checks for your funds and says "they want to purchase this can you hold this money for us" your bank says "sure" and the process continues. At some point the service said "wait a minute there is something wrong, we can not complete this transfer".

If you try and initiate another finalization the process starts all over again. Now the fee is not "charged" as much as it is on hold. If the amount is not claimed within a certain time frame that amount is released and credited back to your account.

That is my understanding of the process at least.

EDIT: Hey Vrak, is anyone working on it now? Or do you not have that kind of info?

I've let our technicians know about it but I haven't been provided an update yet. If I hear something I'll let everyone know.

You might want to contact our Billing Department tomorrow, they may be able to look into this more thoroughly than I can. Remember that Mondays are horribly busy though so expect some busy signals.

You can call 1 (800) 592 5499 (1-800-59-BLIZZARD) Monday through Friday 8AM-8PM (PST) for live representation.
Australian users should please call 1-800-041-378 if the standard 800 line does not work.

As an update, folks, I've recently inquired with our server technicians regarding the issues currently surrounding the Paid Character Transfer service — their efforts toward resolution continue unabated, and shall hopefully result in the process returning to normal functionality sometime soon. In the meantime, we are greatly appreciative of your continued patience while their investigation proceeds. Thanks, ladies and gents. :)

Do appriciate the update I was gettin quite irritated about not having one all night. Could you give us an estamated time that it will be back up? assuming their progress goes as planned? I've been trying to transfer now for almost 14 hours and all I have heard in that 14 hours of being online waiting is "we are working on it" Any additional info you could give us would be great

I regret that I cannot offer any accurate estimate as to when the service shall become available again, nor am I able to delve into the specifics of the work being done to resolve the matter; I can, however, offer my assurances that we're aware of the issue and taking steps to address it. :)

Understandably asking for an exact ETA is fruitless. Such things happen. However, do they have an "idea" of a time frame? Such as hours v. Days? Or is there an educated guess?

I'm sorry to say that, at this stage in the process, I hesitate to offer even such a broad estimate as that — while it is possible that the matter shall be resolved sometime today, the current research may well take longer than is anticipated. That said, I've just been informed that our database administrators are becoming involved, and shall conduct further investigation in hopes of determining how best to proceed. We'll let you know. :)

Any idea on the creditcard issues? Still looking at a 3-5 wait or is there any way Blizzard can go through and cancel the charges? If not should we all contact the Billing department?

To my knowledge, it may be more prudent to contact your bank or other financial institution; however, you're also welcome to call Billing. :)

I can confirm that, after clearing my cookies and cache, then restarting the browser, the Paid Character Transfer service now loads for me.

Please let us know of any other issues that arise, folks, and above all thank you again for the patience you've exhibited during our research. :)

Can we please get a confirmation from a Blue that this works? I'm sure you understand that with $200 already on hold on my account I'd rather not charge up more until I know for a fact that this is working >.<

All reports that I have received, Ruxandra, indicate that the service is running smoothly once more. Perhaps someone who recently transferred will confirm for you. :)

Broloc, if you your card is coming back as invalid please try the troubleshooting steps in the link below and if they do not work for you, you'll need to contact our Billing Department for further assistance.
