Transmogrification, unanswered questions!

Hello forumers! and blizz! I have a few questions about the upcoming addition of!

Transmogrification!

Now, it stated, that if you have the gear, and weapons, you can change your gear into an older tier set whatever, etc etc, AQ40 is beast, blah blah blah.

Now, i have a few Questions.

1.)Will it only be available to vanilla gear?
For example, since im a paladin, can i only transmogrify my gear to said, vanilla paladin Tier sets? such as judgement? Or can i also do the same for Burning Crusade, and or, Wrath of the Lich King tiers?

2.)Can you change it to PvP gear?
For example, could i transmogrify my gear to, the High Warlord's set?
Or the Brutal Gladiator's?
Or the WotLK gladiator sets?

3.)Third and final! Do you have to have SETS of gear in order to change your gear to other SETS of gear? Or can you change one at a time? And does your current gear have to be apart of a set or can be such as if you were a fresh 85, mixes of greens and blues?

If i could get a blizz post on this, that'd be great, if any of the forumers know the answers! Please post!:)

EDIT: is there also any way to restore the look of your gear to it's original set?

Yes, you can undo mogging by visiting the NPC at any time.

Also, will the "look" item keep it's enchantment (*weapon glow) effect?

No, only the item art will be transferred to the piece you're actually wearing.

Zarhym,

can you answer the raging concerns over what is going to happen with T3/Naxx60 items? are they going to be implemented or will they remain as they are?

Not with the release of the feature. The closest available item art would be the Naxx 80 sets.

4. Can you transmog Heirloom gear?

This isn't something we currently plan to allow with the release of the feature either. Whether or not we'd allow this in the future remains to be seen.

I have a question!

Will the items with built in animations (Shaman T10 / Warlock T6) carry through after they are transmorgified?

That's a good question. I believe so, but I'll need to check in with the devs.

One thing I'm curious about is repetition.

Say I have 2 different shields I use with decent regularity for whatever reason, just as an example, and I want to make them both use the art of, say, the elementium reinforced bulwark. Would I be need to farm up a second shield to use as a transmogrify target, or would having only one allow me to transmogrify ALL the things?

Once you have an item in your possession, you should be able to copy the art of that item to as many applicable items you want. So if you have one helm you really like for art, you copy it over to the current helm you're wearing and put the original item back in your bank/Void Storage. If you wear multiple sets you can copy the art over to each of those helms.

Will I be able to raid in this outfit, excluding the flower weapons of course?

Aside from the items you're holding, I don't see anything that should be excluded. ;)

By that do you mean if the weapon I use is enchanted, I "mogg" it and it show the used weapon enchant since it's the one active or it show none becasue too many gfx effect on teh item would emss things up?

It shows the enchant of the item you actually have equipped, along with the art of the item you "copied."

So, I have Eye of Purification enchanted with Power Torrent and I transmogrify it into Mandible of Beth'tilac with a Wind Walker enchant, I will be shown using a Mandible of Beth'tilac with Power Torrent?

Correct.

In theory, yes. But you cannot transmogrify an axe into a sword.

Didn't catch that! You can't change to a different weapon type, but the enchant part of it was correct.

Zar, does it have to be Tier gear that you use the appearance of?
I've got a lovely set of Crystalvein Plate that I'd like to 'wear'... so I'm super curious.

Nope.

Zarhym you still haven't given us an answer as to when this feature is unlocked! Just a confirmation of when we can use it or if you guys are still trying to decide on all that stuff. thanks!

Are you asking for a patch date? Don't you know the rules?! :)

Zarhym, are you devs personally excited about this change? What armor are you going to try to sport now?

I'm very excited! My death knight will probably be sporting the original DK set. My warlock I've had since vanilla and deleted most of his tier gear so as to not be a pack rat /sadface. I don't know what I'll put him in.

I think she wants to know what level. 60? 70? 80? 85? no level?

Oh, I did see ya asking that earlier in the thread. I need to double check with the devs on that one.

Why are legendaries not allowed to be used in this process? And please, no half-!@# response like "It makes them less legendary" when we've already seen statistics showing how rare these items are, and we know that it takes more than just going to an instance 2-3 times to get your hands on one, even the most common of all legendaries, which is the warglaives.

I don't have a good answer for you right now. Just know that the reason I don't is because there is a good amount of internal debate about this right now. ;)
