When TBC imbalances emerge....

... a word of advice for Blizzard: make every effort possible to solve the imbalances with buffs, not nerfs. There may be some situations where nerfs are unavoidable (eg one usage of an ability Blizz didn't think of), but almost all of these should be caught in beta. Even after beta there will be tons of imbalances... and it's not Blizzard's fault. Balancing a game like this is a challenge to say the least. But, this is a game where the main thing that drives people to play is the fact that they enjoy watching their character improve. So when your character's power is diminished through no fault of your own - it feels like you've taken several steps backwards instead of forwards - and actually removes a large part of the fun factor from the game.

People are going to complain when other classes are buffed - that's unavoidable as well. But this will NEVER upset a player as much as having their own class nerfed for the reasons that I mentioned above. Remember, a large part of the FUN in this game is character improvement - Blizzard making your character worse IS NOT FUN.

Note: Despite what you may think by listening to people talk around here - FUN still is the reason most people play this game.

Here's something to consider about your point.

If you want to balance the game with buffs and not nerfs, you have to approach balance slowly, right? Start simple and inch towards the balance you want, adding things a little bit at a time.

How do you think the players perceive that?

I could give you one possible reaction. That reaction would be that people are unenthused with their talents or abilities.

"What the heck, Blizz?!?! These 41-point talents are lame/lackluster/weaksauce. More buffs, stat!"

That happens a fair deal these days.

Just some food for thought.
