Lost out on 2500g

So basically i loaned a player from my server 2500g on the 28th, and she was to pay me that 2500g + another 500g on the 31st. I gave her the gold, and seconds after the trade was accepted she logged out. She logged back in a bit over an hour after that and i tried to whisper her, but she did not reply. Today is not the 31st and i had the best intentions for her thinking she would pay me back although she did not reply to any of my messages. Now so far today i have not gotten my gold, nor have i see her on since the end of the 28th. I tried to contact a GM but i was told that i gave out the gold freely so they could do nothing about it. Although i did it for the 500g and not freely i still did not get it back. They said loaning gold out is not a service, but from many reputable banks i believe it is :\. And now i am out 2500g, and would like to try to get this rule enforced because loaning out gold IS a service, i am giving you gold so i can make that back + more. Please get this forum post to main page by Requesting Sticky so Blizzard could have an attempt at trying to fix this, i will post links of the entire GM conversation to.

If that is to small to read here they are again, but just the GM chat so its bigger font.

I am sorry, Hiccupz, while it may be a service that you provide but the distinction here is that is it an "unsupported" service. Much like running someone through a dungeon would be. You are welcome to pay someone to run you through a dungeon but our In-Game Support staff is unable to become involved if one of you does not live up to the agreement. Just like loaning someone gold. We are unable to serve as your heavies in order to make them pay up or otherwise refund the gold that you gave them.

This should totally fall under the scam policy, and it would have years ago.

No, I'm afraid it wouldn't have. We do not support these types of transactions and that has been a standard policy for many years now. While you are welcome to loan someone gold if you wish, you do so at your own risk.

That's not entirely true. If you pay someone to craft an item and they run off with the materials without giving you the item, you will get your materials back due to the scam policy.

I think you are both saying the same thing. :) In those types of trades the payment for crafting the item is part of the transaction. As long as you had a clearly defined trade agreement, and that agreement was not upheld, we'd be able to look into it and take appropriate actions which usually includes returning the materials/items/gold involved.

Given the nonconstructive posts and name calling found in this thread I think it is best to lock it up.
