Mount Skill not Granted

Prior to the latest patch in anticipation of the changes to mounts there were alot of questions posted about people who had prepurchased mounts for alts. It was confirmed by a blue poster that if the mount was in possession of a character the proper riding skill would be given to that character to ride the mount. This however was not the case. Despite having an epic mount, my character was not given the appropriate riding skill. The logic followed that you spent the G required to have the epic mount which is the same cost of what the new riding skill would be, it does not make sense to have someone spend 900g pre patch, and 900 post patch to obtain the riding skill. I am not particularly picky about how it is remided, just so long as it is. IE either grant my alt the 150 riding skill so he can ride the mount at 60, or just take the mount away and reimburse him the 800g cost. I will then of course do which ever is necessary to obtain the right there after, ie leveling to 60 or buying the riding skill.

Q u o t e:
So those of us who bought mounts should be reimbursed because of what the orignal statement stated. Taking actoin based on blue statement should be protected if later changed.

Unfortunately, we will be unable to reimburse you for this change. This announcement was made on the Test Realm forum for those inquiring about the change as it applied to the Test realms. I'd also like to remind you of the following comment made by Hortus in that same thread:

This is how the mount changes work as I understand it, they may change before 1.12.1 goes live.

I do understand your situation, Squeeks. This is an incredibly unfortunate set of circumstances where you're left with an Epic mount for which you paid the previous "epic" price, which has now become soulbound to your character, and cannot be used without purchasing the Journeyman riding skill when you hit level 60. While we are reviewing cases where players find themselves caught in such a situation, unfortunately at this time we will be unable to assist you. Please accept my apologies for the financial inconvenience this issue has caused you.

In an effort to keep all discussion and information in one easily locatable place please post in this thread concerning any of the recent changes to the 'mount system': http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=28547481&sid=1

Thank you. ;)
