Paid Name Change Curiosity

Hello, my beloved Blues and CSF regulars both! :)

I tried to purchase a paid name change for my Death Knight just a moment ago, and I came across something that is baffling me a bit... so here I am, hoping that someone can shed some light on this for me!

I checked the availability of the name in question by creating a level 1 alt - that went through no problem. I then deleted that alt, closed the game, and paid for the transaction. After I filled out all of the necessary billing information, however, I got the 'error with this transaction' message. No biggie, I went to fill out the information again... This time it tells me that the name I want is not available. 'That is weird', I think, but I wonder if coincidentally the name was taken during the few minutes it was open. So I log in, type up a '/friend [Insert Name Here]' to see if the name is taken on my faction or if it will tell me that I can't friend it because it is taken on the other... all I get is 'Player Not Found'. 'Okay', I think to myself, 'so the name isn't taken'. So I try again to create a level 1 alt with the desired name, but just the same as on the transactions site it is telling me that the name is unavailable.

What I want to know is if there was a hiccup somewhere that locked the name out? Or is it actually taken and the player is just not registering for some reason? The name in question, if it helps, is [Edited Out] here on Emerald Dream.

I checked the account for any indication of the Paid Character Name Change being requested, Xyanya, and I do not show the name change being attempted.

What I would like for you to do is completely exit the game and log out of Account Management. Log back into Account Management and attempt to process the name change again. Perhaps try another method of payment since there may have been an issue with the credit card that was used.

Please update the thread with the results.

I may need to do a bit more research into this for you, Xyanya.

Can you please provide me the character name and realm in which you are trying to change the name?

Also the name you would like the character to be was edited out of your first post correct?

Lastly, you want to change the name ONLY not perform a Re-Customization, Race Change, or Faction Change, correct?

The character in question is (currently) Tzipora and is on Emerald Dream.

We did a bit of troubleshooting on our end and were able to get the name changed. You are now able to log into the character at this time. :)
