Transfers now take 10+ hours?

I got a paid character transfer stuck in "pending" now for more than 10 hours. I remember it used to take not even an hour to transfer before. Is there something wrong with the system? Should I better cancel the transfer?

Realm transfers and faction changes are just a bit backed up at the moment, but they should be working through the system soon.

And to answer the question above, other characters should be fine to play - just not the one that has a change in progress.
